<p>In coordination with Cambridge City Schools, the East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a dedicated leader to join the team as a Preschool Director. In this position, the Director will work hand-in-hand with administration and will be responsible for the oversight of the preschool program, including curriculum, staffing, compliance with regulations and budgeting. The Director will ensure that the program provides a safe and positive environment conducive to learning and early childhood development. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education; Master's degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in an early childhood education setting, preferably in a leadership or administrative role Experience in special education required, understanding of special education compliance for preschool-aged children preferred Valid Ohio license or permit appropriate for the assignment; must hold or be able to apply for an Administrative License Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies Prior experience in leadership role, preferably in preschool programming Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are representative of performance expectations, but are not considered all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned as necessary. A reasonable accommodation may be to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions: Directs the delivery and continuous improvement of a continuum of preschool services deemed essential by the district and other stakeholders Serves as an active member of the district's management team and works to develop strategies to accomplish program objectives Monitors testing and screening programs; provides direction for instructional modifications and interventions that enhance student learning performance Works collaboratively with district administrators to oversee the Board-approved budget for assigned areas of responsibility Monitors legislative activities, educational initiatives and technology innovations applicable to the preschool program and implements policy/procedure changes as necessary Provides staff leadership by working to resolve problems, maintaining open and effective communication, and providing guidance as situations arise Facilitates collaborative planning efforts with staff and administrators; stays current with state standards and guidelines Sets high expectations for staff performance and promotes ongoing opportunities for staff development that improve teaching and student learning outcomes Encourages staff to develop and implement innovative instructional activities, ensuring that services are provided in the least restrictive environment Participates in parent-teacher conferences and meetings when requested Assists with resident educator mentoring programs for preschool staff Participates in staff selection, orientation and evaluation processes; proactively coaches and addresses performance concerns Works with teachers and administrators to address disciplinary and pupil management issues Maintains effective relationships with community services (i.e., court systems, law enforcement, health care facilities, child welfare, etc.) Supervises the collection, entry and verification of preschool data as directed; oversees reporting requirements for state and federal funded programs Coordinates and prepares interagency agreements (i.e., Head Start, Board of DD, etc.) Oversees the timely preparation and submission of reports, records and inventories as required Participates in conferences, staff meeting and professional growth opportunities as directed Performs other job-related duties as required Skills & Abilities: Demonstrates professionalism and contributes to a positive work environment Skillfully manages individual, group and organizational interactions Proactively addresses student behavior; reacts to interruptions and changing classroom conditions effectively Effectively uses verbal and nonverbal skills to communicate with staff, students and parents Exercises self-control when dealing with difficult situations and individuals; must have strong diplomacy skills Experience using behavioral management techniques appropriate for preschool aged children May be required to successfully complete training in communicable disease, child abuse & neglect, CPR, first aide, behavioral management, and/or state mandated preschool training</p>
