<p>Anticipated opening for Library Media Specialist: The Elementary Library Media Specialist develops and manages a welcoming, student-centered library that promotes a love of reading, supports early literacy, and fosters the development of research and digital citizenship skills. This role involves close collaboration with classroom teachers to integrate library resources and technology into the elementary curriculum.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities: Library Instruction & Literacy Promotion: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote reading, information literacy, and digital citizenship to students in grades K-6. Introduce students to a wide variety of age-appropriate literature and authors. Foster a culture of reading through read-alouds, book talks, and reading incentive programs.</p> <p>Curriculum Support & Collaboration: Partner with classroom teachers to develop units that support curriculum goals using print and digital resources. Provide resources and support for differentiated instruction and project-based learning. Collaborate on STEAM initiatives and inquiry-based learning experiences.</p> <p>Library Management: Select, organize, and maintain a diverse collection that reflects student interests, reading levels, and curriculum needs. Manage library operations including cataloging, circulation, shelving, and inventory. Ensure the library is a safe, inclusive, and inviting space for all students.</p> <p>Technology Integration: Teach foundational digital literacy and responsible technology use. Support the use of educational technology tools in collaboration with instructional staff. Assist students and teachers with accessing online resources, databases, and digital reading platforms.</p> <p>Administrative & Professional Duties: Manage the library budget and maintain accurate records of library assets. Participate in school-wide committees and professional development. Communicate regularly with families and staff about library services, events, and resources.</p>
