Therefore, we invite and welcome applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups in healthcare - people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ community, and/or gender expansive, first and second-generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds - to apply.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Unit (CTEU), a research center within the Mongan Institute and the Rheumatology & Allergy Clinical Epidemiology Research Center ( RACER) within the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology (DRAI) and the Mongan Institute and the Division of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital, seeks a Staff Assistant III to join our dynamic and growing research team.</p> <p>The mission of the CTEU is to advance epidemiologic investigation for the translation of discoveries into effective clinical interventions. The CTEU utilizes, develops, and optimizes cutting edge epidemiologic methods to discover and characterize determinants of human health, develop novel preventive and therapeutic interventions, and elucidate molecular biomarkers for the development of precision medicine strategies. Approaches include the analysis of traditional epidemiologic exposures, as well as novel genetic, biochemical, metabolomic, proteomic, and microbial biomarkers.</p> <p>RACER is comprised of Harvard Medical School Research Faculty who direct a large portfolio of research funded by foundations, industry, the National Institutes of Health and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. RACER uses methods of clinical epidemiology, qualitative and survey research, implementation science, informatics, economics, and computer simulation modeling. Specific studies include large observational database research and research that includes enrollment of patients into cohort and clinical trial studies. Primary conditions studied include rheumatologic diseases, drug allergy, vaccine allergy, and immunodeficiencies.</p> <p>Reporting to the Chief of the CTEU and RACER Director, the Staff Assistant III is responsible for setting the administrative direction for all aspects of the operations of the Center. A broad understanding of NIH, MGH, HMS, and sponsor policies is required in addition to a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Staff Assistant III will collaborate closely with departmental leadership, principal investigators, research staff, and other stakeholders to continually assess and direct a wide range of matters.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Staff Assistant III is responsible for the human resources management, program development & implementation for Unit Chief and Director's apidly growing research programs. This position requires strong leadership skills, personal initiative, and the ability to work with others. The incumbent will need to work with research, clinical, and administrative staff and requires an understanding of both research and, at a high level, healthcare operations. The candidate must be professional, highly motivated, and resourceful, with a strong attention to detail, and be able to organize, prioritize, and delegate when necessary.</p> <p>Human Resources Management and Center Operations</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates logistics for meetings/conference events and prepares communication materials. </li><li>Coordinates the on-boarding and credentialing process for new faculty, fellows, center staff, and non-employee collaborators and graduate students. </li><li>Coordinates the completion of the faculty annual career conferences, annual faculty re-appointment process, and petitions for promotion, working closely with the MGH DOM faculty services office. </li><li>Assists in maintaining medical school curriculum vitae materials for the Chief and Director </li><li>Maintains accurate records of staff space assignments, scheduling and attendance, and coordinates with center faculty for placement of new staff hires, interns, and students. </li><li>Coordinates with the Mongan institute office for the preparation and submission of J-1 and H1B petitions for faculty and staff requiring visa support. Monitors current employees for compliance with visa requirements and submits updates in status as needed. </li><li>Oversees the payroll process of center staff through UKG, ensuring staff time is reported accurately and on-time each week. </li><li>Serves as liaison to Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing and other Hospital departments. Identifies needs of research studies and works to ensure that these needs are met.
