<p>Position: Pool Supervisor or Lifeguard</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Sports Facilities</p> <p>Employment Status: Part Time - Days and Hours as Needed</p> <p>Description: Part time position with flexible hours. Position maintains safety and security of the pool and its patrons at all times</p> <p>NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain safety and security of the pool and its patrons at all times </li><li>Rules are explained and enforced in a courteous, professional, and firm manner </li><li>Maintain effective, positive relationships with members, participants and other staff </li><li>Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately. Completes corresponding paperwork as needed </li><li>Remains alert while sitting, standing, or walking </li><li>Be prepared to enter the water at any time while on duty </li><li>Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes swimmer safety and engagement in accordance with policies and procedures </li><li>Assists with pool configuration changes and event transitions </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse population including children </li><li>Comfort in and around the water </li><li>Perform other duties and tasks as assigned </li></ul> <p>Other Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a role model for students </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor </li><li>Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 15 years of age or older </li><li>Must have current lifeguarding certification such as American Red Cross, YMCa, Ellis & Associates or any other course recognized by the Ohio Administrative Code </li><li>Must successfully pass both BCII and FBI background checks (if 18 years of age or older) </li></ul> <p>Additional Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional interaction among unruly children </li><li>Occasional exposure to blood bodily fluids and tissue </li><li>Frequent requirements to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop </li><li>Weekend/evening/summer work </li><li>Requirement to lift and/or carry up to a maximum of 50 pounds, and push/pull up to a maximum of 100 pounds, various supplies and/or equipment </li></ul>
