<p>Req Id: 32182</p> <p>Job Title: Instructional Support Coordinator (STEM Curriculum Development)</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement course content for First-Year Engineering (FYE) courses (ENGR 13100 and ENGR 13200), ensuring integration of both in-class and out-of-class experiences. Responsibilities include managing centralized FYE course activities such as developing a comprehensive course calendar, training the instructional team on course content and grading rubrics, providing guidance on student-related issues, and maintaining technical interfaces like websites. Additionally, support the operation and functionality of classroom and lab spaces to enhance the overall learning environment.</p> <p>This position will be filled as an Instructional Support Coordinator or Senior Instructional Support Coordinator. The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the selected candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is not open to remote or hybrid work.</p> <p>What You'll Be Doing:</p> <p>Course Development (70%)</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with university partners through advance planning to develop course content and logistical activities for the First-Year Engineering courses (ENGR 131/132). </li><li>In cooperation with other curriculum developers, create new and revised exercises to increase efficacy in the classroom. </li><li>Consult with instructional support staff across the university regarding best practices. </li><li>Develop and learn tools for efficient handling of course development. </li><li>Determine methods of class operation along with instructional team. </li><li>Coordinate the centralized course activities such as developing and maintaining course websites, exam logistics, student matters, and other activities. </li><li>Contribute to the development of protocols and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Supervision (10%)</p> <ul> <li>Assist with in-class supervision and training of Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UGTAs) as well as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs). </li><li>Mentor UGTAs and GTAs for in-class and out-of-class performance. </li><li>Participate in the evaluation process of GTAs. </li><li>Monitor the quality of classroom work as well as the timeliness, quality, and consistency of grading, and work with the FYE Director to remediate as needed. </li></ul> <p>Lab Management (10%) & Other responsibilities as assigned (10%)</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the operation of the classroom/laboratory spaces including technology use, maintenance, security, safety, and equipment operation. </li><li>Assist with the development/modification/enforcement of lab policies to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operation of the facilities. </li><li>Ensure the proper operation of classroom and lab resources and work with the proper organizations (such as ECN, ITaP, etc.) as needed to solve problems. </li><li>Assist with the assessment of the operation and utilization of the classroom/laboratory spaces to provide recommendations for future course and lab modifications. </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>The First-Year Engineering (FYE) is the program in which all engineering students begin their academic career at Purdue.
