<p>The Personal Trainer develops and implements individualized workout regimens and conducts fitness assessments for members while recruiting and retaining personal training clientele.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Designs and implement customized fitness programs for members based on their current fitness levels, physical challenges, preferences and goals. </li><li>Delivers safe, effective, fun and interesting workouts to all fitness-training clients. </li><li>Promotes and sells personal training services through interaction with members. </li><li>Promotes all programs and services being offered at the YMCA, encouraging participation. </li><li>Documents training sessions and maintains client records. </li><li>Conducts fitness assessments and evaluations. </li><li>Provides safe and effective instruction of all equipment and works at the skill level appropriate for each member. </li><li>Maintains a varied schedule depending on client and branch needs. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. </li><li>Current national NCCA-accredited Personal Trainer certification required before date of hire. </li><li>Exception - Candidates who hold a BS in Exercise Science or Kinesiology must obtain a NCCA-accredited Personal Trainer certification within 90 days of hire. </li><li>All YMCA employees are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Able to conduct fitness assessments and interpret results. </li><li>Demonstrated skill designing personalized fitness programs for general populations and for people with specific concerns such as obesity, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, etc.. </li><li>Superior motivation, interpersonal, and sales skills. </li></ul>
