<p>Are you passionate about feeding the tiniest of taste buds?</p> <p>At Right Steps, we recognize the transformative power of education within our community. As a distinguished non-profit organization, we specialize in delivering top-tier early education across Tippecanoe (Lafayette, West Lafayette), Jasper (Rensselaer, Remington), and Newton (Goodland) Counties, operating seven licensed child care centers.</p> <p>Right now, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Cook to join our team at North and Creasy Facility:</p> <p>As a Cook, you will provide little growing minds and bodies with healthy and nutritious meals. Performing the basic operations of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) you will prepare healthy and tasty meals and snacks for the children in our centers, following a menu, recipes, and public health regulations regarding food service, storage, and preparation. You'll ensure our children have the fuel they need to learn and grow.</p> <p>Main responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain the kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically </li><li>Maintain inventory of all food, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for food service and monitor regularly to ensure proper rotation of food </li><li>Familiarity with proper conditions and food storage, the ability to understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance </li><li>Attend trainings, and CACFP conferences or workshops in compliance with Licensing, Accreditation, CACFP, and Agency requirements. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Our ideal candidate is someone who genuinely loves working with children and possesses the following minimum qualifications and skills:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. </li><li>Minimum of 1-year prior experience in commercial cooking, preferably in a child care or school environment. </li><li>Previous experience or knowledge of CACFP requirements, guidelines and documentation preferred. </li><li>Previous food service coursework or training. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues. </li></ul> <p>What do we offer to all full-time employees?</p> <ul> <li>50% employee childcare discount at Right Steps centers. </li><li>We want that you and your family to be healthy!
