<p>Position Title: Maintenance Technician Classification: Hourly</p> <p>Department: Production Supervises: N/A</p> <p>Reports To: Maintenance Manager Work Schedule: Varies based on plant</p> <p>Position Objective: Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility</p> <p>machinery. Maintain the plant equipment to optimize production.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain spare parts inventory - determine and manage stocking levels </li><li>Order parts as needed from local vendors and catalogues </li><li>Change bearings, belts and idler pulleys on trough-style conveyors </li><li>Clean and change pneumatic valves on optical sorting machines, and maintain work area </li><li>Communicate equipment issues with mechanics and supervisors from other shifts </li><li>Maintain and secure work tools </li><li>Create sorting computer software/parameter backups </li><li>General PM and repairs of bucket elevators & screw conveyor, fork lifts, front end loaders and </li></ul> <p>sweepers</p> <ul> <li>Install facility machinery </li><li>Back-up for maintenance technicians </li><li>Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs </li><li>Perform checks and basic maintenance on Non-Ferrous Metal Detector </li><li>Complete daily maintenance and repair logs, and maintain preventive maintenance program (PM) for </li></ul> <p>mechanical and electrical equipment</p> <ul> <li>Provide on-the-job training to new employees </li><li>Rigging of motors, conveyor pulleys, and other heavy components </li><li>Weld and fabricate, patch holes in steel chutes and transitions </li><li>Problem solving and project management </li><li>Team player, able to lead and contribute to a team effort </li><li>Troubleshoot sorting computer (Windows based platform) </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance </li><li>Good communications </li><li>Proficient computer MS Office, Excel, a plus </li><li>Welding and fabrication </li></ul> <p>Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate in English and Spanish language, a must in some locations </li><li>Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives </li><li>Electronic experience, a plus </li><li>Experience with mechanical conveyors </li><li>Glass processing knowledge, a plus </li><li>Strong experience with mechanical conveyors </li></ul> <p>Maintenance Manager Job Description Page 2 of 2</p> <ul> <li>PLC experience, a plus </li></ul> <p>Working conditions</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform above listed duties. </li><li>Will be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions periodically. </li><li>A mixture of light, moderate and heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous daily </li></ul> <p>activities of a productive/technical nature.</p> <p>Physical requirements:</p> <p>Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. 50% bend, stoop, twist, reach, and climb steps.
