<p>Type:Full TimeSalary/Pay Rate:$60,000-$67,000/yearPosted Date:03/03/2025</p> <p>Engineering</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Engineer II-Land Development is responsible for the integrity of the engineering design of stormwater management facilities, roadways and drainage systems for land development proposals that affect County facilities. This position implements engineering design policies and ensures that land development projects conform to County criteria. This position reports to the Principal Engineer II, Land Development.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Examines land development proposals to determine possible impacts to County facilities. </li><li>Evaluates construction plans for conformance with County standards. </li><li>The Engineer II, Land Development prepares written technical reports containing engineering requirements necessary to be met before County Planning Board approval can be granted. </li><li>The Engineer II, Land Development analyzes pre-development and post-development flows to determine impacts of development and compares results with the consulting engineer's analysis. </li><li>Calculates vertical profiles and horizontal alignments of proposed roadway improvements to check proposed cross-sections and grading. </li><li>The Engineer II, Land Development prepares cost estimates and calculates performance guarantees and inspection fees required to ensure improvements are constructed according to approved plans. </li><li>This position confers with Planning Board staff and other engineering staff as necessary. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>Essential Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduate Civil Engineer with 2 years' experience in civil engineering, including stormwater management design, roadway / drainage design and land development or equivalent training and experience. </li><li>Must have excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Valid NJ driver's license required. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic design methods including various computer programs (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Hydra-flow); structure design; roadway design, calculation of vertical profiles and horizontal alignments; construction specifications; general engineering practices. </li><li>A clear understanding of County standards and policies regarding land development. </li></ul>
