This position is responsible for the businesses' financial daily management, budget and forecasts, as well as ensuring the SupremeX' policies and procedures are understood and respected. The role is accountable for the application of the accounting, maintenance of fiscal records, support to the shared services and the preparation of financial reports. This role involves partnering with the business leaders to find ways to continuously improve how we manage the business, deliver the financial results as per the budget, support the Finance director with global process improvement initiatives and participate in M&A due diligence process. Finally, the Plant Accountant ensures that proper controls and compliances are in place and respected.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible to assess controls across the business and implement lean and efficient controls and compliance procedures. </li><li>Review and participate in the General Accounting process </li><li>Ensure all key processes are documented properly and accessible on the network </li><li>Meet the deadlines on closing, forecast and project deliveries </li><li>Assess costs and develop and implement unit costs measures to drive productivity, costs reduction and increase quality (measuring scrap/rework) </li><li>Accountable to deliver the Budget EBITDA, this will involve planning and communication with local management </li><li>Lead timely review of the financials with local and Corporate management </li><li>Prepare prior to month-end close explanations for the operating results and work closely with local management in the preparation of the Monthly Presentation. </li><li>Provide timely and relevant financial and operational information to local and Corporate management that explain monthly results. </li><li>Manage, coach and develop the finance team. </li><li>Provide operational and strategic management of financial and analytical requirements. </li><li>Contribute, and direct Operational and Strategic Policy (in line with SupremeX' global policies & procedures). </li><li>Lead, execute and monitor annual plan, business transformational and operational initiatives. </li><li>Assess, implement and manage internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures; ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. </li><li>Proactively manage the balance sheet and P&L. </li><li>Weekly monitoring of job costing vs standard to identify opportunities for improvement. </li><li>Lead contract negotiations, management and implementation. </li><li>Lead month-end closing process, prepare internal financial statements and reporting package (corporate and management reporting). </li><li>Prepare, analyse and present financial information for monthly, quarterly and annual reports, in a precise and timely manner, with business explanations of the variances. </li><li>Direct and coordinate the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. </li><li>Develop and lead initiatives to identify operating costs variances and develop performance and variance analyses, while working with the various departments to improve and control current processes. </li><li>Lead the annual physical inventory count. </li><li>Support new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective. </li><li>Proactively monitor the results of WIP and completed jobs to identify input errors and other anomalies, as revealed in variances between actual and estimated cost. </li><li>Identify the causes of variances from budget, and develop recovery plans with the business team. </li><li>Balance the intercompany accounts. </li><li>Payroll booking and reporting. </li><li>Timely fulfilling (and documenting the performance of) tasks outlined in the monthly accounting close checklist. </li><li>Perform inventory adjustments, as needed. </li><li>Monitor the credit worthiness of customers and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable. </li><li>Respond to audit inquiries and data/documentation requests. </li><li>Review, update and monitor the machine hours rates. </li><li>Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. </li><li>Perform all account reconciliations as per closing calendar. </li><li>Prepare business cases to support business requests (CAPEX, OPEX, continuous improvement initiatives, etc) </li><li>Work closely with the global team (Financial Shared Services, Corporate and Audit/Process teams) </li></ul> <p>Candidate Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years progressive professional accounting experience with at least five years in a management/leadership role within a manufacturing environment (print or packaging related industry an asset). </li><li>University degree in Business/Accounting. </li><li>Professional accounting designation required. </li><li>Extensive experience and knowledge of all accounting cycle, financial reporting and analysis and budgeting. </li><li>Experience in overseeing audits performed by external audit firms. </li><li>Experience in working with an ERP system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX, Epicor,). </li><li>Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). </li><li>ERP implementation experience is a definite asset. </li><li>High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. </li><li>Continuous improvement knowledge/experience an asset. </li></ul> <p>Candidate Profile:</p> <ul> <li>Highly engaged, curious, and eager to learn </li><li>Rapid learner, interested in understanding business operations </li><li>Comfortable with change, deadlines, and a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong general business and financial management expertise </li><li>Results-driven with a common-sense, logical approach </li><li>Confident, hands-on leader with a team-oriented mindset </li><li>High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability </li><li>Strong work ethic, passion, and commitment to excellence </li><li>Analytical thinker with strong planning and execution skills </li><li>Process-oriented with attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Effective project manager, able to motivate teams </li><li>Strong communicator (oral and written) with diplomacy </li><li>Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management </li><li>Able to build long-lasting relationships across the organization </li></ul> <p>Why you will love SupremeX:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated history of financial stability </li><li>Size, scale, and flexibility of operations </li><li>Cultural strength and diversity </li><li>Medical, high quality and cost-effective benefit coverage through a variety of plan options. </li><li>Dental, Basic and Enhanced level of coverage. </li><li>Vision Insurance is available through VSP </li><li>Equitable Group Life Insurance & Short-Term Disability </li><li>Voluntary Life and Long-Term Disability Benefits </li><li>Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) - Health Care and Dependent Care </li><li>Paid Time Off </li><li>401k Safe Harbor Plan </li><li>Paid Holidays </li></ul> <p>SupremeX is an equal opportunity employer.
