<p>JOB SPECIFICATION: DESIGNER B</p> <p>Job No. 1712</p> <p>Pay Group 22</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Under general supervision in the Engineering Department, to do design of electrical projects and to prepare and maintain related diagrams, prints, and records doing drafting work as required and perform such duties as:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with Project Managers to develop the design of electrical projects and assist in the design of major parts of such projects; </li><li>Develop and prepare project drawings and sets of drawings; </li><li>Make engineering computations as required to check the adequacy of the designs; </li><li>Assist in the preparation of engineering studies and reports, making engineering calculations as required; </li><li>Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, budget requests, authority for expenditure papers, etc; </li><li>Prepare bills of material for minor projects and assist in their preparation for major projects; </li><li>Take measurements and other data in the field to support designs; </li><li>Maintain electrical drawing database for historical records </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education in applicable engineering subjects; </li><li>Training and working knowledge of CAD systems; </li><li>Four years' experience in drafting, including elementary and advanced detailing.
