<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking a Director of Audit in New York, NY.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage internal and external audit engagements: general audit, DOE audit, compensation audit, and insurance audit </li><li>Act as the primary liaison with auditors, ensuring timely and thorough audit responses and follow-up </li><li>Oversee daily accounting operations including General Ledger (GL) maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations </li><li>Manage the month-end and year-end close processes and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards </li><li>Prepare, analyze, and review Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and financial statements </li><li>Conduct variance analysis and provide insights for improving financial efficiency and control </li><li>Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations </li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit financial regulations, and applicable grant/funding requirements </li><li>Contribute to strategic financial planning and implementation of accounting best practices* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred </li><li>8+ years of progressive accounting and audit experience, including Assistant Controller or Controller-level experience </li><li>Nonprofit accounting experience is required </li><li>In-depth knowledge of audit processes, nonprofit compliance standards, and financial reporting requirements </li><li>Strong experience with general accounting, GL, month/year-end close, and financial statement preparation </li><li>Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent audits and meet deadlines under pressure </li><li>Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across departments and with external partners </li></ul>
