<p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>The Immunization Consultant will act as a consultant for all aspects of the Immunization Program in the Bureau of Infectious Diseases. This will include the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, the Immunization Quality Improvement Program (IQIP) and the School Immunization Program. Additional duties may include:</p> <ul> <li>monitors provider activity/performance against program requirements, identifies problems and provides corrective actions </li><li>educates providers (e.g., physicians, medical staff) on current immunization details and procedures </li><li>assists with planning, assessment, and problem-solving (e.g., schedules and procedures for childhood, adolescent and adult immunization practices, indications and contraindications, barriers, exclusion and exemption policies, etc.) </li><li>assists with development and maintenance of record systems, reminder and recall efforts, computerized assessment techniques, proper vaccine handling and storage </li><li>routine or ad hoc assessments (e.g., risks, needs, outcomes, etc.) to enhance program quality and support local public health systems. </li><li>assistance with development of relevant policies, procedures, codes, regulations and legislation. </li><li>tracking health objectives </li><li>recordkeeping and reporting (e.g., status of reviews performed, compliance issues, follow-up plans). </li><li>development/coordination/delivery of training and health education/promotion activities. </li><li>partnering with various communities to implement and reinforce health promotion programs. </li><li>assistance with grant applications, grant reviews, and monitoring spend to budget </li></ul> <p>This position will consist of up to 80% travel covering the northeast region of Ohio to include the following counties: Wayne, Holmes, Coshocton, Stark, Tuscarawas, Carroll, Columbiana, Carroll, Harrison, and Jefferson.</p> <p>Position Qualifications</p> <p>6 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include exp. in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups; completion of graduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field; must be able to provide own transportation.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>18 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include exp. in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups; completion of undergraduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field; must be able to provide own transportation.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.</p> <p>Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors or advanced degree in public health, health care, health administration or related field. </li><li>Experience providing technical assistance or educational consultation. </li><li>Experience working with vaccinations or in the vaccine field. </li><li>Experience with computer software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). </li><li>Experiencing presenting, training, and/or public speaking. </li><li>Experience working on quality improvement programs. </li><li>Experience working with grants. </li></ul> <p>All eligible applications shall be reviewed considering the following criteria: qualifications, experience, education, active disciplinary record, and work record.</p> <p>Job Skills: Public Health</p> <p>Technical Skills: Public Health, Computer Literacy</p> <p>Professional Skills: Consultation, Presenting, Verbal Communication, Written Communication</p> <p>Educational Transcript Requirements:</p> <p>Official educational transcripts are required for all post-high school educational accomplishments, coursework or degrees claimed on the application. Applicants will be required to submit an official transcript prior to receiving a formal offer of employment. Failure to provide transcripts within five (5) working days of being requested will cause the applicant to be eliminated from further consideration.</p> <p>Please note that a transcript is considered "official" only if it is an original copy from the educational institution and includes an institutional watermark, ink stamp or embossed stamp. Transcripts printed from the institution's website will not be accepted. ODH reserves the right to assess the academic credibility of an educational entity's award of a putative degree.</p>
