Purdue Global's School of Nursing has an opening for Adjunct Faculty.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles. Courses are offered on a term by term basis.</p> <p>Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role</p> <p>participates in continuing professional development and may also engage in faculty governance</p> <p>and curriculum work as needed. Additional service activities may be assigned to Adjunct faculty.</p> <p>Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments for Adjunct faculty may fluctuate and are</p> <p>contingent upon the schedule of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and</p> <p>foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success.</p> <p>In addition to teaching courses, this Adjunct Faculty position will provide support within the</p> <p>School of Nursing in the areas of onboarding, New Faculty Orientation, faculty scholarship, and</p> <p>teaching and learning. This Adjunct will be provided appropriate course release time to</p> <p>prioritize this area of responsibility. This role will report to the Associate Dean.</p> <p>What to expect in this role:</p> <p>? Teaching and Learning Support</p> <p>? Candidates in this position will take on a faculty support role for the School of</p> <p>Nursing's Teaching & Learning team.</p> <p>? Provides support to faculty and other assigned projects on a short-term and long-</p> <p>term basis based on business needs and varying team support requirements</p> <p>? Fosters overall excellence in teaching by supporting faculty and staff on</p> <p>evidence-based teaching practices with a special focus on online and hybrid</p> <p>learning, as well as on wide-ranging educational technologies used in all</p> <p>teaching modalities.</p> <p>? Provides a faculty and student-centered learning environment which enables</p> <p>students and faculty to attain success.</p> <p>? Partners with faculty to provide voluntary, con?dential, and constructive guidance</p> <p>to promote student success and enhance their scholarly teaching practice</p> <p>? Provides a welcoming, collaborative and inclusive learning and networking environment</p> <p>? Attends University, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested.</p> <p>? Remains current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are</p> <p>applicable to the program.</p> <p>? Additional Adjunct Faculty Expectations:</p> <p>? Teaches synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10 week units) as assigned by</p> <p>the School or program.</p> <p>? Maintains school-determined virtual office hours per week for each class.</p> <p>? Ensures timely management and response to electronic correspondence from</p> <p>students, administrators, and other University officials.</p> <p>? Leads message board discussion and engages students in relevant discussions</p> <p>and coursework.</p> <p>? Partners with Academic Advisors to address student concerns. Refer students</p> <p>who self-identify with a potential need for an accommodation under the</p> <p>Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to Student Accessibility Services (SAS),</p> <p>and comply with all student accommodations communicated by SAS in writing.</p> <p>? Maintains and submits accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.</p> <p>? Delivers mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.</p> <p>? Enforces student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog.</p> <p>? Performs additional duties assigned by the School.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Master's degree (MSN) in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.</p> <p>Active unencumbered RN license and Advanced Practice Nurse license.</p> <p>Two to four years related experience and/or training (online teaching experience is a plus).</p> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <p>? Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication</p> <p>style and method to suit different audiences.</p> <p>? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional</p> <p>demeanor with people at all levels within the organization and from diverse</p> <p>backgrounds.</p> <p>?
