<p>We are seeking a Developmental Education Learning Coach who will assist in improving the academic retention and completion of PCCC students. The Developmental Education Learning Coach will report to the administrator responsible for assisting in improving the college retention and achievement initiatives.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the development, administration, and evaluation of retention programs. </li><li>Monitor student progress and recommend appropriate interventions and services. </li><li>Assist in the identification and implementation of development and instructional support resources for the special needs program participants. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress and interactions </li><li>Ability to make referrals college offices and administration as needed. </li><li>Meets individually with all assigned students (in person, online, and by phone) on a regular basis to provide academic advising and degree planning. </li><li>Develops programming and provides resources to students in support of their academic progress and career development. </li><li>Applies best practices in academic advising to assist students in selecting programs of study, discerning fields of study, and connecting to experiential opportunities. </li><li>Collaborates with other advisors at PCCC to develop a strong advising community and to deliver programs that support student success and retention. </li><li>Works collaboratively with student success team, departmental associate chairs, program directors, faculty mentors, and other members of the faculty and staff on student academic progression and student concerns. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's degree in Student Personnel Services, Education, Social Work, or related field. (Required) </li><li>Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Experience in working with academically disadvantaged students in an urban setting. </li><li>Proven ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, organize, prioritize, and work collaboratively. </li></ul> <p>A cover letter included with the resume is preferred for this position.</p> <p>The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.</p>
