<p>Salary: $55,000 - $60,000</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Teacher Education at Hocking</p> <p>College will be responsible for supervising instructors, engaging schools in for</p> <p>student practicum placements, advising Hocking College students, monitoring</p> <p>program outcomes, instructing courses, and serving as the lead instructor of</p> <p>the Early Childhood Teacher education degree programs. Our Early Childhood</p> <p>Teacher Education program has traditionally focused on pre-K instruction and</p> <p>training, but due to demand and articulation agreements with other</p> <p>institutions of Higher Education, we are looking to expand course offerings to</p> <p>include elementary education specific training.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Provides effective day-to-day management and administration of</p> <p>the program within the School of Workforce Development</p> <p>Supervise instructors including hiring and training</p> <p>Engage with schools and childcare facilities in practicum and</p> <p>employment opportunities</p> <p>Advise students including developing and sustaining student</p> <p>relationships through participation in orientation, intrusive advising,</p> <p>coaching and mentorship</p> <p>Monitor program outcomes</p> <p>attendance</p> <p>grades</p> <p>retention</p> <p>classroom observations</p> <p>instructor evaluations</p> <p>Instruct courses and serve as the lead instructor of the Early</p> <p>Childhood Teacher Education degree programs</p> <p>Provide actionable information to the Dean of Workforce</p> <p>Development</p> <p>Annual curriculum review including but not limited to forming and</p> <p>maintaining a pre-K and elementary education advisory board of</p> <p>education experts and employers</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Master's degree in Early Childhood Teacher Education, Elementary</p> <p>Education, or related.</p> <p>Active K-12 teaching license such as PK-3, 4-12, 7-12, or have held one</p> <p>within the last 3 years.</p> <p>3-5 years of teaching experience</p> <p>Evidence of professional development in the field of concentration as</p> <p>demonstrated by activity in professional associations, consultative</p> <p>practice; participation in seminars, workshops, and formal coursework,</p> <p>and individual reading and research.</p> <p>Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).</p> <p>Strong technology skills including usage of email, student information</p> <p>system, and learning management system</p> <p>Organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Knowledge of subject area.</p> <p>Knowledge of educational theory and application.</p> <p>Knowledge of learners and individual learning styles.</p> <p>Interest in and commitment to the learner-centered educational</p> <p>process.</p> <p>Educational technology skills.</p> <p>Confidentiality.</p> <p>Caring attitude toward students.</p> <p>Learning and self-motivation skills.</p> <p>Willingness to extend self to help students succeed.</p> <p>Knowledge of College resources available to students.</p> <p>Knowledge of organizational structure.</p> <p>Current knowledge of programs, objectives, and requirements.</p> <p>Openness to suggestions for improvement.</p> <p>Attention to detail.</p> <p>Flexibility in dealing with others.</p> <p>Ability to work as a team member.</p> <p>Ability to prioritize work.</p> <p>Behaves in accordance with Hocking College and Academic Affairs</p> <p>mission, goals, and values.</p> <p>Positive attitude.</p> <p>Knowledge of safe working conditions.</p>
