<p>Job Title: Landscape Architect</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We have an immediate need for an Associate Landscape Architect to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. As an Associate Landscape Architect, you will contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of Landscape Architecture projects. You will collaborate with high-level Landscape Architects, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet client expectations and project goals. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, design creativity, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.</p> <p>This person will work side-by-side with one other Landscape Architect within the company's Civil Site Design team, which currently consists of 11 other members (engineers and design technicians). This role will focus on Landscape Architecture and not Civil Design, as those responsibilities are handled separately. The team primarily supports public projects, such as schools, universities, parks, hospitals, multi-family, & mixed-use buildings. This person will have the ability to work though the entire project lifecycle: conceptual phase, schematic design, design & material selections, construction document preparation, and construction support. This position is open due to continued growth within the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the development of conceptual and schematic designs for landscape architecture projects </li><li>Prepare detailed design drawings, plans, sections, and specifications </li><li>Conduct site analysis, including site inventory and assessment of environmental, social, and physical characteristics </li><li>Coordinate with project teams to ensure design integrity and project goals are met </li><li>Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and proposals </li><li>Manage project tasks, deadlines, and deliverables under the guidance of high level staff </li><li>Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops </li><li>Communicate design concepts and solutions effectively to clients and stakeholders </li><li>Address client feedback and incorporate revisions into design documents as needed </li><li>Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS for design and documentation </li><li>Ensure designs comply with local regulations and codes related to landscape architecture </li><li>Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications </li><li>Collaborate with contractors and consultants during the construction phase to ensure design intent is realized </li><li>Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality. </li><li>Mentor junior staff members and support their professional development. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture </li><li>Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) or ability to obtain within 6-12 months </li><li>3-5 years of relevant experience in Landscape Architecture, preferably with a Design or Consulting Firm </li><li>Proficiency in Design software - AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office </li><li>Preferred but Not Required - Revit experience and strong graphic design presentation skills </li><li>Preferred but Not Required - Knowledge of sustainable design practices and principles </li><li>Preferred but Not Required - Communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Preferred but Not Required - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>You will work in a team-oriented environment with an open floor plan to encourage collaboration. The office is well-located, providing a nice and conducive workspace. The team consists of 11 other members, including engineers and design technicians.
