<p>Maintenance Supervisor</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Coordinate and supervise the activities of skilled and unskilled maintenance workers. Ensure proper methods and procedures are followed to maintain, repair and service equipment, buildings and facilities in compliance with building codes and safety standards. Maintain production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensure minimum equipment downtime. Inspect projects to ensure conformity to specifications, direct safety inspections and preventative maintenance programs. Responsible for maintaining stock of inventory of materials, parts and specialized tools for the maintenance function.</p> <p>Responsibility</p> <ul> <li>Manage and direct the activities of employees and equipment in maintenance department in the absence of the maintenance manager. </li><li>Effective employee relations including handling employee complaints, obtaining help and guidance for employees with problems. </li><li>Conducts monthly department meetings. </li><li>Complete performance evaluations for all maintenance employees. </li><li>Ensure appropriate parts and supplies are available in order to properly maintain essential equipment and uptime. </li><li>Maintain and direct all PM&PD activities. </li><li>Maintain PMX and / or IFS software and all related documentation. </li><li>Arrange for quotes from contractors in conjunction with maintenance buyer. </li><li>Oversee, mentor and direct all staff. </li><li>Department champion to ensure all contractors have appropriate documentation in order. </li><li>Identify, recommend and authorize training activities for the department. </li><li>Develop and monitor detailed overhaul, repair and preventative maintenance schedules for shop tools, equipment and vehicles. </li><li>Develop and monitor operating and project budgets. </li></ul> <p>Academic/Educational Requirements</p> <p>Bachelor's degree or Associate's in an industrial technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Required Skills/Experience</p> <ul> <li>Five years' experience. </li><li>A minimum of two (2) years' experience in an industrial supervisory or managerial capacity. </li><li>Ability to read completed inspection forms to ensure all maintenance repair and inspection tasks have been adequately completed by their workers. </li><li>Study assembly drawings for equipment to determine what parts are required and how they go together. </li><li>Possess excellent communications kills to speak with managers and supervisors to explain the progress of jobs and to obtain instructions and tasks. Discuss ongoing work with workers they employ and supervise. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks to maintain efficiency. Establish work schedules and shift priorities and appointments to accommodate emergencies and cancellations. Determine how best to organize work to meet deliverables and timelines of team-based projects while supervising multiple job assignments. Use judgment and experience to coordinate and integrate job tasks with other workers and to decide job priorities. </li><li>Ability to work independently and to provide professional guidance and oversight to maintenance and installation tasks and projects. Assume a wide variety of roles to coordinate job tasks with those of junior workers, co-workers and subcontractors. </li><li>Intermediate knowledge of all applicable Microsoft and other software applications. </li><li>Maintain continuous learning to be kept up to date with new technologies, new information and regulatory changes within industry.
