The role will</p> <p>require careful attention to detail, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to</p> <p>juggle multiple competing priorities and timelines and problem-solve. Daily work and</p> <p>responsibilities will vary, but the primary responsibilities include:</p> <p>? Managing constituent inquiries and casework related to NYCHA, including repairs, maintenance,</p> <p>tenant rights, and housing transfers</p> <p>? Participating in and staffing the Assemblymember at in-person and virtual community</p> <p>meetings and events that sometimes takes place during evenings and weekends</p> <p>? Developing strong relationships with government agencies, organizations, members of the</p> <p>community, and other elected officials to expedite potential solutions to issues affecting NYCHA</p> <p>residents</p> <p>? Entering constituent cases into a database</p> <p>? Maintaining up-to-date files on issues</p> <p>? Assisting with office and community events</p> <p>? Supervising interns</p> <p>Additional duties and responsibilities will be based on the individual's strengths and interests. This</p> <p>position reports to the Chief of Staff.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Qualifications</p> <p>Ideal candidates will possess the following education, experience, language abilities, and</p> <p>competencies:</p> <p>? Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate's degree with comparable job experience</p> <p>? Prior experience working with NYCHA and a passion for affordable housing issues are</p> <p>required. This includes a strong familiarity with housing policies and tenants rights in New</p> <p>York State</p> <p>? Personal ties to NYCHA (as a resident or through family) are strongly preferred and</p> <p>specifically ties to AD 65 is a plus</p> <p>? Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage tasks on simultaneous projects,</p> <p>prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent attention to details</p> <p>? Excellent computer skills</p> <p>Excellent written and public speaking abilities</p> <p>? Previous experience working or interning in an elected official's office or working in public</p> <p>service, e.g., case management, community organizing, electoral campaign, or nonprofit</p> <p>work experience, is a plus</p> <p>? Flexibility about work hours, available to work evenings and weekends on occasion</p> <p>? Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment</p> <p>? Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to speak before large groups</p> <p>? Spanish fluency is strongly preferred</p> <p>Additional Comments Benefits:</p> <p>? Compensation is commensurate with experience; $45,000 - $50,000 per year.</p> <p>?
