<p>Position Overview</p> <p>Butler University is seeking an energized and motivated team member to direct The Office of Continuing and Professional Education (OCPE). This is an on-campus position reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Transformation.</p> <p>The OCPE is an innovative office that provides industry-aligned training for individuals, organizations, or industries wishing to advance their skills. Specifically, the OCPE offers non-credit programs for organizations, businesses, industries, personal enrichment and development, educational organizations, and public-service learning.</p> <p>The Director will have the opportunity to create and implement a strategy to grow continuing and professional education for Butler University. This strategy will include creating and expanding offerings to support organizations, industries, and students through professional/ personal development offerings. Additionally, the director will manage the daily operations of the OCPE and lead team members to support the office's goals. This position works closely to align strategy and offerings with Butler's seven colleges, the Transformation Lab, and the Office of Strategic Engagement. Additionally, the director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand the complex workforce and educational market needs and recommend value-added offerings to meet these demands.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will exhibit previous work and life experiences that prepare them to contribute to our commitment to engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse students, faculty, and staff. Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and intercultural development in a work environment and be eager to contribute to inclusion efforts on campus.</p> <p>Two of Butler's key strategic priorities are "to create an intentionally diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus community," and to "build a culture of empowerment, engagement and accountability."?We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and/or life experiences have prepared them to contribute to engagement with, and inclusion of, a diverse collection of students, faculty, and staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Budget oversight and maintenance, including budgets associated with programs within the division </li><li>Drive the creation, development, and execution of a diverse offering of programs </li><li>Create and implement a growth and positioning strategy for the division </li><li>Lead team members and provide a safe and positive work culture </li><li>Represent Butler with workforce partners </li><li>Attend conferences, sessions, and make collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders aligned with the mission of OCPE </li><li>Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment plans to attract prospective students and organizations from diverse backgrounds </li><li>Build and maintain relationships with organizations (businesses, industry, community, etc.) to promote the division and increase student numbers </li><li>Manage projects, including engaging with stakeholders, budgeting, role assignment, setting costs and timelines, and gaining approvals, ensuring quality completion of projects </li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with subject matter experts (i.e., Butler faculty members, industry experts, etc.) who can develop and provide training </li><li>Research industry needs and trends to inform division strategy, growth plans, and offerings </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with advanced credential(s)/certification(s). </li><li>Five+ years of experience working with adult learners in a leadership role within professional or continuing education, leadership or workforce development, or relevant adult learning environment </li><li>Budget management and growth forecasting experience </li><li>Experience managing complex projects from creation to execution </li><li>Experience in consultative sales and/or similar fields </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and build relationships with stakeholders </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and admissions management systems; experience with CRM software </li><li>Comfortable in a dynamic startup environment, including significant amounts of autonomy </li><li>Ability to work independently with little supervision </li><li>Ability to travel </li><li>Be dedicated to building an inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population </li><li>Passionate about extended access to higher education and student learning </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certifications in leadership coaching, project management </li><li>Start-up experience </li><li>Experience working with businesses in the Indianapolis community </li></ul> <p>BU Benefits and Perks</p> <p>Please check out Butler's Total Rewards website to learn more about our benefit offerings, which include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Paid Time Off and Holidays:</p> </li><li> <p>28 days of paid time off (vacation and PTO days) per Fiscal year</p> </li><li> <p>8 Paid Holidays</p> </li><li> <p>In addition, a paid Winter Break between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day</p> </li><li> <p>Paid Parental Leave (after 1 year of full-time employment)</p> </li><li> <p>Health:</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans including disability and life insurance programs</p> </li><li> <p>Retirement:</p> </li><li> <p>10% employer contribution after 1 year of full-time employment</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition Assistance:</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition Exchange Program for Dependents</p> </li><li> <p>Remission of tuition for classes taken at Butler for employees, spouses, and dependent children.</p> </li><li> <p>Eligibility after 9 months of full-time employment</p> </li><li> <p>Employees & spouses- undergraduate/graduate degrees</p> </li><li> <p>Dependents (under age 26)- undergraduate degree</p> </li><li> <p>Covers tuition only</p> </li><li> <p>Butler Facilities Access, Discounts and Perks:</p> </li><li> <p>Access to Butler's on-site fitness facility and libraries for full-time staff and faculty</p> </li><li> <p>LinkedIn Learning Courses</p> </li><li> <p>Free premium subscription to the Calm App</p> </li><li> <p>Free subscription to the WSJ, The Economist, and NYT</p> </li><li> <p>Discount at the College Bookstore</p> </li><li> <p>Discount on select Athletic and Arts/Events Center Performances</p> </li></ul>
