Wausau Equipment's dedication to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction makes them a trusted partner for municipalities, contractors, and other snow removal professionals.</p> <p>Join our growing team of Welders in Wooster, Ohio!</p> <p>Formerly known as Rayco Manufacturing, and now part of the Alamo Group Snow & Ice Team, we manufacture heavy duty snow and ice removal equipment.</p> <p>The Welder performs various welding operations in a production environment including tack and finish welding. Fit and position weldments using fixtures and jigs where applicable.</p> <p>Essential Functions of the Job:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains welding equipment and makes adjustments on equipment to prepare it to weld different parts or subassemblies. </li><li>Performs simple and moderately complex welding operations following blueprint weld symbols with limited supervision. </li><li>Moves parts manually, by hoist or overhead crane and secures piece in weld fixture or table using clamps and wrenches. </li><li>Maintains production quantities, efficiencies and quality on parts welded. </li><li>Examines work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. </li><li>Prepares surfaces to be welded and works with blueprints to verify accuracy of pre-assembled metal components to be welded. </li><li>Performs quality control inspections and cleans welded components. </li><li>Performs simple measurements using devices or gauges to check work. </li><li>Positions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, cable slings, or may bolt parts in position for welding or riveting. Also performs rework, if necessary. </li><li>May research new welding techniques, procedures, and equipment, and make recommendations. </li><li>May record work order information and inventory transactions. </li><li>May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary to support the manufacturing and welding operations. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of basic procedures of MIG welding. </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of basic procedures of voltage and amperage for given requirements. </li><li>Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. </li><li>Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. </li><li>Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternate conclusions or approaches to problems. </li><li>Skilled in the operation of grinders and deburring equipment. </li><li>Able to run 1/2-inch fillet welds. </li><li>Able to perform standard measurements using a tape measure and other measurement devices. </li><li>Accurately read and interpret blueprints with weld symbols and specifications. </li><li>Ability to monitor/assess performance of yourself to make improvements or take corrective actions. </li><li>Able to weld simple to complex assemblies with little supervision. </li><li>Able to lift and position fabricated metal parts manually, using a hoist or forklift. </li><li>Able to wear personal protective equipment. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate information to supervisors, peers and co-workers. </li><li>Able to work overtime and/or including weekends as production schedules dictate. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED preferred. </li><li>Welding Technology certificate of similar technical college education preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of previous welding experience in a metal manufacturing production environment. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Work performed in a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts. Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of 35 pounds alone. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate production equipment.</p>
