<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Serving as a member of the Athletics Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Sports Medicine/Athletics Health Care Administrator is responsible for the administration of the sports medicine program, including managing athletic training staff, coordinating with team physicians, and the administration of insurance. Oversee complete medical care regarding all varsity student-athletes participating in 17 varsity sports. Evaluate and treat athletic injuries, rehabilitate athletes, and recommend injury prevention strategies. Serving as a member of the Athletics Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Sports Medicine/Athletics Health Care Administrator is responsible for the administration of the sports medicine program, including managing athletic training staff, coordinating with team physicians, and the administration of insurance. Oversee complete medical care regarding all varsity student-athletes participating in 17 varsity sports. Evaluate and treat athletic injuries, rehabilitate athletes, and recommend injury prevention strategies.</p> <ul> <li>Develop overall sports medicine program for the University, including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, and educational programs for student-athletes. </li><li>Evaluate athletic injuries; administer proper first aid and emergency care. </li><li>Provide athletic training services for the University's athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary. </li><li>Supervise the University's athletic training staff and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach </li><li>Serve as an active member on the Athletic Department Senior Leadership Team. </li><li>Communicate with coaches, administrators, physicians, and parents regarding the injury status of athletes. </li><li>Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete. </li><li>Manage the Athletic Training Facility including the scheduling of routine maintenance and purchasing of new equipment.
