<p>Overview</p> <p>Tyndale, a 8x Top Workplace winner is looking for a Seamstress/Tailor to perform basic and more complex alterations to specialty garments according to our customer's specifications. Our team works in a production environment so accuracy and the highest attention to detail is necessary for success. This is an excellent opportunity within a growing company offering potential for advancement.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform all phases of sewing and alterations required by the Company; </li><li>Verify order-Check merchandise for correct size, style, color, etc.; </li><li>Prep the work according to what alteration is required; </li><li>Hem/Sew Garments as needed, using over lock and single needle sewing machines or hemming machine; </li><li>Identify the appropriate components to be used to complete the repairs/ customizations </li><li>Apply patches & sew on embellishments when necessary; </li><li>Install snaps utilizing the appropriate equipment </li><li>Notify Team Lead or Director of any issues that may arise including quality of garments, pick ticket accuracy, etc. </li><li>Perform other duties and tasks as assigned; </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required; </li><li>Prior extensive sewing experience required; </li><li>Prior experience in alterations required; </li><li>Experience & proficiency with industrial sewing equipment a plus </li><li>Excellent Attention to Detail; </li><li>Ability to read a measuring tape; </li><li>Familiarity with & competency in using hand tools to remove zippers </li><li>Prior use of electric hand tools (fabric cutters) a plus </li><li>The sewing skills required include hemming pants to the correct inseam, shortening sleeves, placing zippers in pant legs, and a variety of other sewing operations that involve the customization and repair of garments-replacing broken zippers, patching, re-sewing belt loops, etc. </li></ul>
