<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Department of Biology invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Nursing at the assistant professor rank to begin September 1, 2025. This is a 9-month position (September 1-May 31), with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. The position can be non-tenure-track for candidates with a minimum degree of Masters in Nursing or tenure track for candidates with a Doctorate in Nursing or a related field.</p> <p>The successful candidate will teach didactic and laboratory courses in MCLA's new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, supervise student clinicals, contribute to program development, assessment, and accreditation, and build and maintain positive relationships with clinical site partners. For tenure-track faculty, expectations will also include a research program that involves undergraduates or another form of scholarship as well as participation in the college shared governance process, campus committees or other service. MCLA seeks a candidate committed to high quality teaching, undergraduate mentoring and advising, and who will make contributions to MCLA's ongoing commitment to bring diversity, equity, and inclusion to the curriculum.</p> <p>Faculty will be expected to maintain current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies by maintaining an active, unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse License, and by participating in continuing education programs and professional growth activities. Furthermore, this individual will be expected to maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with program policy.</p> <p>Faculty may be requested to perform other tasks or duties to support the program. The Nursing program is housed in a newly renovated wing of the Berkshire Medical Center North Adams Campus and has a new, fully equipped simulation lab.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a master's degree in nursing for non-tenure track; doctorate in Nursing or related field required for tenure track, by the start date for the position. </li><li>A current, unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing. </li><li>A minimum of 2 years acute care clinical experience or its equivalent in the last 5 years. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and experience in baccalaureate education. </li><li>Demonstrated teaching ability at the undergraduate level. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogies and classroom practices. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This is a Full-Time, benefited position in the MSCA bargaining unit.
