<p>Position Title:</p> <p>Maintenance Manager</p> <p>Classification:</p> <p>Salaried</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Production</p> <p>Supervises:</p> <p>Maintenance Staff</p> <p>Reports To:</p> <p>Plant Manager</p> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Varies based on plant</p> <p>Position Objective: The Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance activities within the production facility, ensuring machinery and equipment operate at peak efficiency by implementing preventative maintenance schedules, managing repairs, leading a team of maintenance technicians, and working closely with other departments to minimize downtime and optimize production output..</p> <p>Position Description: The Maintenance Manager will report to the Plant Manager and lead the plant maintenance team to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the plant equipment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and lead the plant maintenance team </li><li>Practice, train, and enforce safe and best practices with employees </li><li>Ensure employees are trained on job specific assignments </li><li>Train plant personnel to assist in basic maintenance and PMs </li><li>Audit plant performance at completing maintenance tasks. </li><li>Develop and refine maintenance planning processes; and preventive maintenance programs for mechanical and electrical equipment </li><li>Evaluate and ensure the quality of maintenance performed by internal plant maintenance teams and external vendors. </li><li>Identify plant performance issues and provide recommendations for equipment and design changes to correct them. </li><li>Manage equipment vendor relationships with major equipment suppliers; global spare parts program; spare parts inventory - order parts as needed, determine and manage stocking levels </li><li>Oversee maintenance of forklifts and front end loaders </li><li>Perform hands-on escalated maintenance troubleshooting and repairs; periodic preventive maintenance checks as required; basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs </li><li>Support Continuous Improvement initiatives; emergency repair processes; provide plant managers and plant maintenance teams with first-line escalation support during equipment failures. </li><li>Track equipment status, redistribute maintenance and spare-parts assets, and expedite high-priority repair efforts to maximize plant uptime performance. </li><li>Weld and fabricate, as needed, patch holes in steel chutes and transitions </li><li>Other Duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>3 to 5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience in a supervisory role </li><li>Able to work safely and efficiently </li><li>Ability to lead and direct the work of others with excellent communication skills </li><li>Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively </li><li>Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics preferred </li><li>Advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, including three-phase electrical troubleshooting </li><li>ERP systems and TPM Maintenance Program experience, preferred </li><li>Strong computer and plant controls skills with analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills </li><li>Rigging of motors, conveyor pulleys, and other heavy components </li><li>Strong experience with mechanical conveyors </li><li>Strong welding and fabrication skills, i.e., stick and/or wire welding </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, or equivalent, required </li><li>Lean Manufacturing experience, 5s, and/or Six Sigma certification a plus </li><li>College Degree or technical training in industrial maintenance and repair preferred </li><li>Bilingual English/Spanish preferred </li><li>MS Office required, including Excel, Word, and Outlook </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Will be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions periodically </li><li>A mixture of light, moderate and heavy physical activity </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. 50 % bend, stoop, twist, reach, and climb steps. Up to 75% walking or standing required.
