Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement databases, data collection systems and data analysis activities. </li><li>Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources. </li><li>Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code and data problems. Verify data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting. </li><li>Perform data extraction, aggregation, and quality checks from multiple sources and tables in support of trend identification and root cause analysis. </li><li>Develop charts, graphs, tables, and graphics to interpret and present data in a meaningful way. Communicate insights and recommendations effectively. </li><li>Contribute to data dictionary, standards, training, and ongoing updates. Contribute to improving business performance and driving data-driven decision-making. </li><li>Work with other Data Analysts and management to develop and build analytic models in support of policy development and budgetary proposals. </li><li>Utilize advanced analytical techniques to predict future infrastructure conditions and needs. </li><li>Leverage programming expertise to build unique datasets and analytical programs. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Data Analyst Trainee 1:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.</p> <p>Data Analyst Trainee 2:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience* in advanced excel analysis.</p> <p>Data Analyst 1:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree and either: satisfactory completion of a two-year traineeship or two years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.</p> <ul> <li>Substitution: A master's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of the specialized experience. A Ph.D. in the above fields may substitute for two years of the specialized experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments Your degree must have been awarded by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
