<p>Assists Chief Clerk and Deputy Clerk with preparation and handling of legal and other papers and materials necessary for court proceedings by performing the following duties.</p> <p>include the following. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.</p> <p> </p> <p>Assists the public: greets visitors to office; answers the telephone; gives non-technical information; takes messages and/or directs caller to appropriate person.Weight: .30</p> <p>Keeps records: maintains hardcopy court records; enters data into Contexte state record keeping system.</p> <p>Provides support for court proceedings: enters arrests into Contexte, files copy and distributes copies to interested parties; assists with maintaining trial calendar; enters ACIC slip into Contexte; makes sure call sheets and docket sheets are ready for court; assists with processing court papers and documents; prepares warrants, subpoenas, summons, and other court orders as directed; prepares certified copies of court records.</p> <p>Compiles information and prepares reports: assists in the preparation of operations and accounting reports for the Judge; compiles statistical information from records; prepares reports as directed.</p> <p>Provides miscellaneous clerical support: prepares purchase orders for supplies and materials; assists Judge as necessary.</p> <p>Relieves for Deputy Clerk in the absence of that employee.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent and one year directly related experience. Experience with or knowledge of Contexte computer system and civil and small claims court proceedings is strongly preferred. </p> <p>A valid class D driver's license and a good driving record are required.</p> <p>The complexity, guidelines, supervisory controls, and supervision responsibilities described below are representative of this position.</p> <p> </p> <p>Tasks involve related steps. Employee carries out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Specific guidelines are available. Employee uses initiative in selecting appropriate guidelines and carrying out recurring assignments. The supervisor defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines. The employee plans and carries out steps and handles problems and deviations in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices. The work is evaluated for technical soundness and conformity to policy. The employee does not supervise any employees.</p>
