<p>Req Id: 35631</p> <p>Job Title: Production Coordinator</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>About Our Opportunity</p> <p>The Production Coordinator will use experience and knowledge to work independently toward the accomplishment of departmental goals using expert culinary, organization, and quantity food handling knowledge and skills. Leads in a variety of areas in the operation. Demonstrate ServSafe food sanitation techniques. Continuously coaches all staff members in safety, culinary techniques, safe food handling, and equipment operation. Train full-time and part-time employees in service standards, safe food handling, and food storage. Tasks may include grilling, frying, and assembling recipes, as well as vegetable and fruit preparation. Demonstrate effective communication in daily interactions with guests, employees, and supervisors.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee setup, organization, prioritization, and preparation of the area for service. </li><li>Organize, motivate, support, and inspire the staff to ensure the flow of high-quality food and service. </li><li>Teach and coach new employees in the processes of managing a service platform during the production shift. </li><li>Ensure proper production tracking is communicated for each meal service. </li><li>Ensure service, safety, and sanitation practices are adhered to on a consistent basis. </li><li>Lead all employees in proper food handling, sanitation, and service standards. </li><li>Manage food presentation, production, quality, and control waste during throughout shift. </li><li>Operate a computer for the purpose of email, accessing payroll/timekeeping information, food production materials, and training. </li><li>Communicate effectively with guests, employees, and supervisors throughout each shift. </li><li>Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. </li></ul> <p>What We Are Looking For</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED </li><li>A minimum of two (2) years of food service supervision experience OR three (3) years of food service experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree </li><li>Team lead or Trainer experience </li><li>ServSafe Certification or the ability to pass within three (3) months of hire </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to climb ladders, stand, walk, reach and stoop extensively </li><li>Ability to lift and carry twenty-five (25) to fifty (50) lbs. frequently, and up to sixty (60) lbs. occasionally required </li><li>Must perform basic math functions and understand and communicate production quantities and conversions </li><li>Ability to meet daily deadlines by planning and organizing self and others </li><li>Ability to assist in employee evaluations </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with others, particularly individuals from differing backgrounds and views </li><li>Must have high work standards and productivity, strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers </li><li>Knowledge of sanitation requirements </li><li>Ability to pass the Food Handler's examination </li><li>Ability to pass AllerTrainU within three (3) months of hire </li><li>A passion for food and culinary work will help you be successful in this role </li><li>Stable work history and excellent attendance records </li><li>Knowledge of and training experience in areas of food sanitation, cross-contact, and allergy protocols </li><li>Ability to supervise multiple people and areas at once </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Purdue's benefits summary </li><li>Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position </li><li>A background check will be required for employment in this position </li><li>FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible For Overtime) </li><li>Retirement Eligibility: Non-exempt Defined Contribution Plan </li><li>Purdue University is an EOE/AA employer.
