<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Mortgage Banker is responsible originating high-quality mortgage and equity loans, while providing excellent service to borrowers and referral sources. This individual also cross-sells bank products and services, while participating as an active member of regional teams.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations </li><li>Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency </li><li>Work as part of a team </li><li>Work with on-site equipment </li><li>Originate permanent conventional and FHA/VA/RD residential mortgage loans, with purposes of purchase, refinance and construction for the centralized channel (Internet, phone, LOS/CRM referrals), home equity loans and lines of credit for the centralized channel (Internet, phone, LOS/CRM referrals), and obtain appropriate financial and credit data to properly disclose and analyze level of risk </li><li>Assist with borrower communication for construction loan overflow </li><li>Manage mortgage activity according to bank strategies </li><li>Interview borrowers to initiate complete, accurate and timely loan applications and disclosures </li><li>Meet timelines associated with regulatory disclosures </li><li>Work with processing center to streamline the process from application to closing </li><li>Maintain thorough knowledge of core lending products and rate/fee structure, thorough knowledge of loan origination system, and working knowledge of related systems </li><li>Understand borrower needs and recommending appropriate loan products </li><li>Comply to investor, insurer, and bank policies and procedures </li><li>Understand and comply with mortgage industry regulations, including the Qualified Mortgage, Dodd-Frank, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, Mortgage Disclosure Improvement Act, Truth-in-Lending laws, etc. </li><li>Keep informed of changing rules and regulations, and local real estate and economic trends and developments that may affect loan quality or production </li><li>Exercise good credit judgment to decision loans within the Retail Loan Policy and individual loan authority limits </li><li>Ensure loan decisions and recommendations are based on accurate information </li><li>Manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately </li><li>Respond to Quality Control reviews in a timely manner </li><li>Monitor and understand performance of individual portfolio </li><li>Pro-actively call on abandoned mortgage online applications </li><li>Respond to online requests for contact via Northwest website </li><li>Maintain thorough knowledge of all Northwest products and services and actively recommending cross-selling opportunities, and of competitor products and recommending enhancements to NWSB products </li><li>Promote and maintain a favorable image for the Bank, and customer loyalty by providing superior service to each customer and referral source </li><li>Work cooperatively with referral sources and mortgage production staff </li><li>Project professional image that inspires confidence and trust </li><li>Manage flexible schedule to meet customer needs </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in related subject preferred</p> </li><li> <p>registration with NMLSR and annual renewal</p> </li></ul> <p>Registering with the Registry and maintain registration</p> <p>Obtaining a unique identifier through the Registry</p> <p>Providing MLO unique identifiers to consumers</p> <p>Upon Hire required</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related area of study preferred </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li>3 - 5 years lending/banking experience, knowledge of secondary market and regulatory guidelines, customer service and sales experience </li></ul> <p>#LI-MM1</p> <p>Northwest is an equal opportunity employer.
