OhioGuidestone connects individuals with the resources needed to achieve lifelong success, providing community counseling, substance use disorder treatment, workforce development training, early childhood mental health services, psychiatric care and more.</p> <p>The Institute of Family and Community Impact"TM" is a learning organization that provides growth to families and drives change in our communities. The Institute develops and advances clinical innovation and practices that produce better outcomes and greater value to our clients and stakeholders. The Institute supports the delivery of evidence-informed and evidence-based practices, ensuring that science is translated to practice and equipping practitioners to help their clients achieve their goals more quickly. The Institute advocates for policy and culture changes that support and sustain strong relationships and families, and healthy and vibrant communities.</p> <p>The Institute is looking to host several upperclassmen and graduate school students as Institute Scholar Assistants (SAs). SAs are students who are passionate about using science, technology, policy, evaluation, business analytics, healthcare and research to enhance lives and build connections across a variety of communities and reduce disparities. Institute SAs looking to fulfill requirements for an internship placement, service learning hours, shadowing, or other experiential requirements will have the opportunity to fulfill up to 320 hours per semester (approximately 16 weeks; should be able to commit a minimum of 5 hours a week). SAs will work with Institute leadership to identify project or priority based assignments within one or more of the five Institute Centers. SAs will generally work out of an office based in Berea, OH,- or remotely depending up on projects and priorities assigned. Institute Scholar Assistants will gain invaluable knowledge, experiences, and opportunities to prepare them for real-world applications following graduation.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Candidates in this position will support Institute of Family and Community Impact"TM" Fellows on projects, including but not limited to assisting with development of clinical training and products; analysis and evaluation tasks; research protocol activities; support publication and presentation activities; and assist with advocacy/policy initiatives.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Data Management: data collection, entry and storage; demonstrating high levels of organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills: written, electronic and in-person </li><li>Ability to navigate online sources, for example internet searches, social media, webpage content </li><li>Review and manage high volumes of electronic communication </li><li>Able to use Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel) at an Intermediate or above level </li><li>Engage in continual learning and training. </li><li>Regular and reliable attendance to the satisfaction of management. </li><li>Exhibits positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required. </li><li>Demonstrates positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment, and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to operate a computer and other position related technologies with basic typing skills. </li><li>Must be able to verbally exchange information in a confidential manner with employees, clients, students, participants, and/or families in various settings; ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Must be able to clearly and confidentially communicate with OhioGuidestone employees, clients, students, participants, and other stakeholders. </li><li>Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication. </li><li>Must be able to visually determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned and/or to make general observations of facilities or structures. </li><li>Must be able to work flexible hours as needed. </li></ul> <p>Performance/Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. </li><li>Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Driving may also include transportation of clients, students, or participants. </li><li>Must be able to access work locations and, as necessary, client, student, or participant homes which may include ascending/descending stairs. </li><li>Must be able to stoop, stand, walk, bend, and stay upright to perform work. </li><li>Must be able to visually read written and digital information. </li><li>Must be able to hear clients, students, or participants, co-workers, and supervisors at normal speaking levels. </li><li>Must be able to frequently position self to an equal level in order to work with children and or clients of all ages. </li><li>Must be able to type case files and other paperwork. </li><li>Must be able to frequently drive to varying work environments including agency office, school based, community based including client homes in various communities. </li><li>Must be able to dictate with clients, students, participants, co-workers, and supervisors using all means of communication including but not limited to, in-person, phone, and computer. </li><li>Must adhere to all Our Promise Values and Guiding Principles. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Current student pursuing Bachelors, Masters, Professional or Doctorate Degree in a related field. </li></ul> <p>Preferred fields: Psychology, Sociology, Pre- or Allied Health Fields, Public Policy/Policy Studies, Clinical Social Work, Neuroscience or Cognitive Science, Education, Health Management, Health Informatics, Communications, Organizational Development- or related fields.</p> <ul> <li>Intermediate, or above, level experience with writing a variety of media (online, grants, research publications, training, blogs, etc.) preferred. </li><li>Beginner, or above, level experience in statistics, policy studies, organizational development and learning, business analytics desired. </li><li>Must be 21 years of age </li><li>Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance. </li><li>Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test and drug screening. </li><li>Contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check. </li></ul> <p>At OhioGuidestone we care about the health and safety of our employees.
