<p>Position Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Recruitment/Posting Title Business Specialist Job Category Staff & Executive - Finance/Accounting/Purchasing Department IPO-Budget & Accounting Overview</p> <p>The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.</p> <p>Posting Summary</p> <p>Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).</p> <p>Among the key duties of this position are the following:</p> <ul> <li>Processes various financial documents and data. </li><li>Analyzes data and prepares internal financial reports consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role and goals of the Business Unit and the tasks and responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist or Business Specialist with respect to achieving business unit goals. </li><li>Works under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work and established work parameters for the unit. </li><li>Work is usually reviewed upon completion. </li><li>Performs professional work requiring knowledge of general accounting principles and practices and the basic application and use of concepts, theories and terminology of accounting. </li><li>Primary user of the Enterprise Planning & Budgeting Cloud System (EPBCS). This includes reconciling rosters, preparing budget documents, exporting reports, analysis of previous years, projections for forecasting, and other related tasks. leading team meetings for updates in the system and being a point person within the business w1its to troubleshoot. </li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for training and mentoring new Accounting Assistants on accounting procedures, company policies, and financial systems.
