<p>River Steward</p> <p>Brookfield Renewable US is a leader in renewable power solutions with a hydropower dam facility located on the Oswego River in Oswego, NY.</p> <p>Brookfield is committed to ensuring public safety for all who recreate on or near the Varick Hydropower Dam facility. Brookfield is hiring 5 River Stewards to effectively communicate with the public to ensure the safety of those fishing and enjoying the river.</p> <p>This is a seasonal position starting June 2nd and ending November 26th. Training and orientation will be provided.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Well-organized and enthusiastic about working with the public; </li><li>Able to effectively communicate in person; </li><li>Capable of performing duties independently as directed by a supervisor; </li><li>Eager to work outdoors in all weather conditions; </li><li>Have strong attention to detail. </li><li>Minimally be able to walk on a variety of surfaces (inclines and unsteady terrain) and stand for extended periods of time in all types of weather conditions. </li><li>Be comfortable speaking with the general public and enforcing public safety regulations associated with the Oswego River at the Varick Dam. </li><li>General angling knowledge is preferred but not a requirement. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skill & Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Live within a reasonable commuting distance to the Oswego River Varick Hydropower Dam facility. </li><li>Background or desire working in the outdoors. </li><li>Ability to work in all types of weather (hot and inclement). </li><li>Possess the ability to learn specific rules and regulations as related to public safety on the Oswego River. </li><li>Ability to commit to a (5) month contract. </li><li>Ability to work days, weekends, & Holidays. </li><li>Ability to remain calm under stressful situations. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate in all types of situations while maintaining composure. </li></ul> <p>Pay: $20.00/hr.</p>
