Job duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, evaluate, and analyze New York State's targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention education and awareness initiatives, with specific regard to colleges and universities in New York State. </li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert in targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention. </li><li>Facilitate learning and build targeted violence prevention capacities for tertiary education stakeholders </li><li>Supervise the day-to-day operations of employees responsible for the targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention education and awareness efforts focused on tertiary education throughout New York State. </li><li>Directly support the Assistant Director of the DHSES Office of Counter Terrorism as well as collaborate, cross-train, and align with other units within DHSES Office of Counter Terrorism. </li><li>Update targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention outreach and education material based on the latest research from relevant fields. </li><li>Present about the targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention programs at conferences and other meetings across New York State. </li><li>Provide targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention outreach and education support to requesting entities including faith communities, non-profit organizations, law enforcement organizations, educational institutions, and other partners identified by unit leadership. </li><li>Foster strong relationships with relevant executive leadership to include tertiary education stakeholders, county and local government, law enforcement, secondary education stakeholders, mental health providers, non-profit organizations, and other partners identified with unit leadership to facilitate communication, gauge impact, and maintain awareness of targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention efforts across New York State. </li><li>Conduct analysis on identified topics and program areas to evaluate New York State's targeted violence prevention and domestic terrorism prevention efforts, providing findings in both written and presentation form to internal leadership and external audiences. </li><li>Represent the agency and unit at conferences, meetings, and in program reviews, as appropriate. </li><li>Public speaking, presenting, and group facilitation are required duties of this position. </li><li>Review and analyze local government domestic terrorism prevention plans. </li><li>Assist in disaster response and recovery activities as required and assigned. </li><li>Travel will be required. 30%. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: one year of permanent service as a Homeland Security Program</p> <p>Analyst 1;</p> <p>OR bachelor's degree and three years of experience in intelligence analysis, homeland security, counter terrorism, emergency preparedness analysis and assessment, or investigations.</p> <p>A master's degree may substitute for one year of the experience.</p> <p>Additional Comments NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.</p> <p>NOTE ON TELECOMMUTING: Employees are required to apply and obtain approval through management to telecommute according to the agency's Telecommuting Program Guidelines.</p> <p>Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.</p> <p>Name Human Resources/SB</p> <p>Telephone 518-486-5700</p> <p>Fax 518-485-8432</p> <p>Email Address HRresumes@dhses.ny.gov</p> <p>Address</p> <p>Street NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, HRM</p> <p>1220 Washington Ave., Building 7A</p> <p>City Albany</p> <p>State NY</p> <p>Zip Code 12226</p> <p>Notes on ApplyingPlease submit a resume and cover letter detailing how you meet the minimum qualifications.
