<p>Medical Assistant OR Licensed Practical Nurse</p> <p>Department: Spravato Clinic</p> <p>Location: Kenosha, Waukesha, Brookfield Spravato Clinic</p> <p>Reports To: Clinical Operations</p> <p>Employment Status: FT</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>About the Employer</p> <p>Founded in November of 2020, Pain Physicians of Wisconsin is a group of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and a great group of support staff serving the southeast region of Wisconsin. The goal of our treatment team is to help our patients live their healthiest lives possible. Our Owners have recognized the overwhelming need for patient's to be taken care of from a holistic aspect. We have broadened our practice to encompass and reach patients by offering Spravato for patients with Treatment-Resistant Depression.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The purpose of this position is to provide direct patient care under general supervision of licensed personnel, maintaining and operating equipment, and performing any other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient care and physician service.</p> <ul> <li>Gather and record vital signs and medical histories, and prepare patients for administration of medication. </li><li>Record information in electronic medical records (EHR) database or paper chart. </li><li>Submit REMs Monitoring form within 7 days of treatment day. </li><li>Complete necessary paperwork as ordered by provider. </li><li>Participate in the correct scheduling of patients, appropriate communication with the scheduling department. </li><li>Prepare patient for Spravato Treatment Session; Correctly identifying patient, correct medication dosage to be administered, instruct patient how to administer medication, and monitor patient for two hours. Updates and confirms medication and allergy profiles, completes and documents vital signs prior to treatment/40 minutes after administration/2 hours after administration, and enters new information or health concerns of patient. </li><li>Assist in the performance of chart review on daily basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient documentation. </li><li>Assist in keeping work space orderly and follows appropriate cleaning protocols. </li><li>Facilitate communication to physician and health care provider regarding questions about treatment, medications, and provider instructions to patients. </li><li>Always participate and maintain safety and dignity of patient. </li><li>Ensure monthly office note sent to referring providers for updates regarding Spravato treatment. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times. </li><li>Adhere to organizational and department specific safety standards and guidelines. </li><li>Work collaboratively and support efforts of team members. </li><li>Demonstrate exceptional customer service and interact effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, staff and the broader health care community. </li><li>Travel between clinics. Waukesha - Mondays and Tuesdays. Kenosha - Tuesdays and Thursdays. Occasionally travel to Brookfield depending on staffing needs. </li><li>Meet with site manager when arriving at each site to check in/out medication and count inventory. </li><li>Work with Psych Nurse Practitioner(s) and Clinical Operations Manager for additional Spravato tasks. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent. If LPN, successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program. </li><li>At least two years of related experience preferred. </li><li>Strong organizational, judgment, communication, and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities. </li><li>Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, organizational leadership, and visitors. </li><li>Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public. </li><li>Ability to work independently, make decisions, and problem solve. </li><li>Evidence of leadership qualities. Frequently contributing to the improvement of the department and participate in committee participation, task force, etc. </li><li>Ability to contribute to a team environment and to provide excellent customer service. </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. </li><li>Must have dependable transportation due to traveling between clinics. </li></ul> <p>Licenses & Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Current certification or registration as Medical Assistant and/or Licensed Practical Nurse from an accredited certification agency preferred. </li><li>BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire. </li></ul> <p>Pre-Employment Testin</p> <p>This position requires the following pre-employment testing:</p> <p>Criminal & Caregiver Background Check, renewed every four years</p> <p>Professional Reference Check</p> <p>TB & Rubella Screen</p> <p>Drug Screen</p> <p>Please note that this job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee(s) assigned to this job.
