As one of Indiana's largest employers, our vision is to lead the transformation of healthcare through quality, innovation, and education, and make Indiana one of the nation's healthiest states.</p> <p>About this Position:</p> <p>Full Time, Night Shift</p> <p>Performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and may provide supervision of other staff. Prepares patient equipment for testing, interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain pre and post testing procedures. Performs and documents testing per lab protocols. Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. Assists with scoring sleep studies and generating reports. Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements. Maintains credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the BRPT or ABSM or Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NRCA or NBRC or Certified Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC, though RRT preferred.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. </li><li>Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NRCA or NBRC or Certified Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC or Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or certified by ABSM as a Registered Sleep Technologist, and prefer Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with emphasis in polysomnography. or Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than 1 year duration associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician. </li><li>High School Diploma/GED required. </li><li>Associates Degree preferred. </li><li>1-3 years of experience required. </li></ul> <p>IU Health also offers different opportunities for career and professional development for our staff that qualify for benefits.
