This role includes check-ins, scheduling, payment collection, insurance verification, and compliance management. The APAR ensures smooth workflows and adherence to guidelines, preparing patients administratively and financially for their visits.</p> <p>Exceptional Skills and Qualifications</p> <p>The Associate Patient Access Representative (APAR) is responsible for a variety of front-office and back-office functions throughout the network including but not limited to the responsibilities below:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED High School diploma or GED equivalent (Required) </li><li>1+ years: Experience in healthcare office setting and/or work history with strong customer service background (Preferred) </li><li>Registration/Admissions: Proficient in all types of registrations (i.e., inpatient, outpatient, and emergency admits) </li><li>Completes Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers in a timely manner when applicable </li><li>Ability to monitor and perform all patient hospital and/or ambulatory movement </li><li>Utilizes EPIC work queue to pre-register scheduled patients </li><li>Verifies medical necessity in accordance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards and communicates relevant coverage and eligibility information to the patient </li><li>Accurately identifies and enters patient demographics, insurance, and financial information including inpatient and outpatient benefits </li><li>Gathers and verifies all appropriate, confidential health and financial information from patients while using various computer software to assure payment for all authorized services </li><li>Confirms the completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) and makes necessary changes </li></ul> <p>Why Community?</p> <p>At Community Health Network, we build teams that deliver exceptional care through empathy, communication and collaboration.
