<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Availability: Position Title: Content Manager/Media Producer for Admission Communications Requisition Number: 0406073618 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities:</p> <p>The New School is looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, creative individual to join our Admission Communications team as a Content Manager/Media Producer. This position is mostly remote, with required on-campus content creation and mandatory monthly staff meetings. This position is an important, integral part of Admission Communications and Welcome Center work, and essential to the success of Enrollment Management's mission. Our Content Team members connect with and create content for prospective students, applicants, parents, and families on Instagram, ZeeMee, and CampusESP. They also engage with our audiences at in-person and online events. Importantly, individual Content Creators work independently and collaboratively, contributing to a positive, enjoyable work environment. As a member of the Content Team, the Content Manager/Media Producer will assist in managing our Instagram account and will work closely with our Content and Communications Assistant and Content Creators to produce multimedia content including promotional videos, Reels, Stories, and carousel posts. The Content Manager/Media Producer will contribute to content creation as needed.</p> <p>Applications without work samples will not be considered.</p> <p>The New School is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and particularly seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups, as well as candidates who share this commitment.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Successful candidates will:</p> <ul> <li>Have extensive experience with Premiere Pro and Canva video, photo, and design capabilities </li><li>Edit and produce multimedia content for different content platforms, including promotional videos, Reels, and Stories from video clips provided by Content Creators and Welcome Center administrators </li><li>Direct, film, edit, and produce multimedia content for our different content platforms, online events, and as needed </li><li>Collect and organize photos provided by team members for Instagram carousel posts </li><li>Research trends and suggest opportunities for use on our social platforms </li><li>Learn, apply, and educate team members in inclusive practices in content creation </li><li>Serve as an Instagram technical expert, staying current on platform updates, and communicating updates to the team </li><li>Meet all content deadlines, attend all content team meetings, and represent Admission Communications at in-person and online events </li><li>Check in daily with our content team and Welcome Center professional administrators on our Slack workspace </li><li>Be comfortable in front of the camera </li><li>Create dynamic, authentic, approachable multi-media content for our communications platforms that provides an honest view and personal insight into student life </li><li>Learn and understand our different audiences and platforms, including prospective students, applicants, parents/families, Instagram, ZeeMee, and CampusESP </li><li>Enjoy connecting with and assisting our audiences, answering questions about student life and admission processes, and providing support </li><li>Enjoy collaborating with professional staff and other student team members </li><li>Contribute to a friendly, fun working environment </li><li>Be a positive, dependable, professional resource for our team </li><li>Complete other content creation and review duties as assigned </li><li>Manage their own time </li><li>Commit to working 9 hours per week </li><li>Understand this is job position is an important, integral part of Admission Communications and Welcome Center work, and essential to the success of Enrollment Management's mission </li></ul> <p>Our Instagram account is where prospective students, applicants, and admitted students can:</p> <ul> <li>Get a glimpse into the daily work of the Welcome Center and Admission </li><li>Be introduced to our staff working behind the scenes to help them navigate the Admission process </li><li>Be reminded of important dates and deadlines </li><li>Get tips on navigating the city </li><li>See what our student employees are working on in and out of class </li></ul> <p>Our CampusESP platform is where parents, families, and supporters of prospective students, applicants, and admitted students can:</p> <ul> <li>Read blog posts written by student content creators, admission counselors, Student Success staff, and CampusESP partners </li><li>Receive a weekly newsletter digest of blog posts and events </li><li>Receive one-time announcements delivered directly to their email accounts </li><li>Be reminded of important dates and deadlines </li><li>Get a fuller understanding of the admission process and what their student can expect at The New School </li></ul> <p>Our ZeeMee app is where prospective and admitted students can:</p> <ul> <li>Build community before arriving on campus </li><li>Find roommates </li><li>Connect with each other, Content Creators, and New School staff </li><li>Rely on Content Creators and New School staff as resources </li><li>Interact with members, moderators, and admins through posts and chats </li><li>Ask questions via posts, comments, and/or direct messages </li><li>Receive important information about enrollment requirements and deadlines </li><li>Learn about current New School news and Admission events </li></ul> <p>HOURLY RATE</p> <ul> <li>$18 per hour </li></ul> <p>WORK MODE</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program at The New School.
