<p>Makeup By Mario is seeking a Director of Product Development who will be a key member of the Global Product Development Team.</p> <p>This role is responsible for overseeing key categories in the product innovation pipeline, requiring both creative and analytical thinking: ability to identify and drive innovation, a keen sense of future trends, understanding and identifying consumer insights, understanding of the overall beauty business, strong communication and prioritization skills, and team management and mentorship. Cross functional collaboration and partnerships are essential to achieve common goals for the department and company.</p> <p>This role will report to the VP of Product Development and is based in New York City.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Drive development across all MBM categories from ideation through the life cycle of the product </li><li>Help lead, inspire & motivate an experienced PD team. Will oversee Assistant Manager </li><li>Present new concepts and formulations to the VP of Product Development and Brand Founder to gain alignment </li><li>Ideate and create ground up, first-to-market innovations </li><li>Maximize relationships with global suppliers </li><li>Build productive relationships with key cross functional partners including Packaging, Sourcing, Marketing, Education and Sales </li><li>Research and share market and ingredient trends to ensure projects meet the needs of the marketplace; identify new trends in product format, ingredients, delivery systems and technology that will translate into potential new concepts </li></ul> <p>SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of product development work experience in color cosmetics (complexion required - complexion products, such as foundation, concealer, BB/CC creams, tinted moisturizers, powders, and sometimes primers or setting sprays). </li><li>BA degree or equivalent experience required. </li><li>Expertise needed in color and formula texture evaluation across all categories. Strong experience working on site on both shade and formula development ensuring exceptional quality standards. </li><li>Extensive experience and existing strong relationships with global contract manufacturers and raw material suppliers </li><li>3+ years managerial experience leading, developing and motivating teams </li><li>Experience working with founder led organizations a plus </li><li>Passionate about color cosmetics and the beauty industry </li><li>Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects through strong prioritization and planning skills </li><li>Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing collaborative environment </li><li>Is a self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Is a team player - collaborative, flexible and able to adapt to changes. </li><li>Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to deliver strong, polished, effective presentations </li><li>10 - 20% travel is required, international and domestic </li><li>If you're currently a Senior Manager looking to grow into a Director role, we encourage you to apply </li></ul> <p>This is a full-time role that requires you to be in-office 5 days per week (located in East Mid-town Manhattan)</p> <p>Salary Range: $140 - 145k p/yr.</p> <p>MAKEUP BY MARIO is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
