<p>We are looking for a Sheet Metal Apprentice in the Rutland area that will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for facility maintenance and installation programs.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Helps install sheet metal equipment and ductwork per the drawings and specs outlined to safely construct specified structure. </li><li>Properly install sheet metal accessories. </li><li>Work safely, follow OSHA standards along with New England Air Systems protocol. </li><li>Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions. </li><li>Uses appropriate machinery to complete assigned jobs. </li><li>Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs. </li><li>Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions. </li><li>Maintains clean and orderly workspace. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16". </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate fractions. </li><li>Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision. </li><li>Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work. </li><li>Ability to follow directions. </li><li>Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment. </li><li>Team player who can also work independently. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Will work with a high school senior who is looking for a co-op experience with their tech school. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding and overhead structures. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. </li></ul> <p>About our apprenticeship program:</p> <p>Our apprenticeship program takes 4 years to complete with a combination of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and classes that will teach you about the basics of the sheet metal trade.</p>
