<p>Applications to be submitted by March 28, 2025 Compensation Grade: P25 Compensation Details: Minimum: $91,922.00 - Maximum: $91,922.00 Annually Department (OPH) CCH - Division of Chronic Disease Prevention Job Description: Responsibilities The Research Scientist III will work within the Bureau of Data Analytics, Research, and Evaluation, Division of Family Health, Center of Community Health. The Research Scientist III will be responsible for all aspects of the NYS Maternal Mortality Review. The incumbent will oversee data efforts to identity and characterize maternal deaths for identifying prevention opportunities. This position will work closely with in-kind staff, internal and external stakeholders, and the NYS Department of Health grant implementation team on all grant-associated data and analytics. Specific duties include: oversight of and/or performing the data linking and case identification, and oversee all aspects of case ascertainment and data analysis; ensure that data compilation and data entry for the MMR is accurate, comprehensive and timely; work closely with project managers to ensure completion of all grant deliverables related to data management, analysis and quality improvement coordination; respond to regular and ad hoc data requests; lead the preparation of reports and presentations of data and analytical findings for dissemination/publication and supervise staff Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field and four years of research experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and three years of such experience; or a Doctorate in a related field and one year of such experience. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience with data management, data methodologies, statistics and software tools, relational databases and linkages of large, complex administrative data systems. Intermediate knowledge of statistical analysis and methodologies. Experience preparing statistical reports for public presentation. Experience writing manuscripts based on analyses. Proficient in the use of SAS, Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, written and oral communication skills. Experience with extracting, sorting and merging of large health care datasets for the application of higher order analysis. Experience supervising staff. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
