Be the difference.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Provides assistant surgical services in the operating room as well as other selected medical services under the direction of Cardiothoracic surgeons.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Provides general surgical assistant services in operating room. </li><li>Harvests veins in OR. </li><li>Removes chest tubes and pacing wires. </li><li>Closes thoracic incisions. </li><li>Removes intra aortic baloon pumps. </li><li>Performs all charting, summaries, correspondence, and required paperwork for purposes of documenting care and billing. </li><li>Participates in physician educational programs provided by employer relative to capitated medicine and implications relative to physician practice patterns. </li><li>Participates in: </li></ul> <p>Establishment of quality assurance programs</p> <p>Establishment of Utilization management programs</p> <p>Selection of management information systems</p> <p>Development of patient education surveys</p> <p>Development of patient satisfaction surveys</p> <ul> <li>Assists in the development of operational and capital budgets </li><li>Participates in operational assessments in search of revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies and billing opportunities. </li><li>Assists in post-operative care of patients including daily rounds and wound assessments. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory/Management Responsibility</p> <p>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Completion of a Physician Assistant Program or Program Certificate equivalent </li><li>1 year of Cardiothoracic clinical experience </li></ul> <p>Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses</p> <ul> <li>South Carolina Physician Assistant License - C039 </li><li>Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants </li><li>South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license, Prescriptive Authority for South Carolina </li></ul> <p>In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Completion of Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program or approved Surgical Physician Assistant graduate program</p> <p>Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements.
