<p>Job Description:</p> <p>School Lane Charter School is accepting applications for an Elementary Literacy Interventionist for the 2025-2026 school year. Click here to apply.</p> <p>New employees are expected to attend New Teacher Orientation on August 14th & 15th, and the week of staff professional development beginning August 18th. The first day of school for students is August 25, 2025.</p> <p>The Elementary Literacy Specialist plays a critical role in supporting student literacy development within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. This position involves working with students, teachers, and school leadership to improve literacy outcomes through assessment, targeted interventions, small-group instruction, professional development, and coaching. The ideal candidate holds (or is working toward) a Reading Specialist Certification and has a strong background in literacy instruction, data-driven decision-making, and tiered support strategies.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) & Data-Driven Instruction</p> <ul> <li>Implement and support the MTSS framework to provide differentiated literacy instruction and interventions. </li><li>Analyze and interpret literacy assessment data to identify students at risk and determine appropriate tiered interventions. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers and school teams to develop and monitor individualized support plans for students at Tier 1 (whole group), Tier 2 (targeted small group), and Tier 3 (intensive intervention) levels. </li><li>Participate in data team meetings to review student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. </li></ul> <p>Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring</p> <ul> <li>Administer and analyze literacy assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction. </li><li>Utilize progress monitoring tools to track the effectiveness of interventions and adjust support as needed. </li><li>Support teachers in using formative and summative assessment data to refine literacy instruction. </li></ul> <p>Small Group Instruction & Intervention</p> <ul> <li>Provide targeted, evidence-based literacy interventions for students needing additional support. </li><li>Design and implement small-group instruction aligned with student needs, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and writing. </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies into daily literacy instruction. </li></ul> <p>Teacher Coaching & Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Provide job-embedded coaching to support teachers in implementing research-based literacy instruction and interventions. </li><li>Model effective literacy strategies, co-teach lessons, and provide feedback to enhance teacher effectiveness. </li><li>Lead professional development sessions on literacy best practices, assessment use, and differentiated instruction. </li><li>Support teachers in implementing high-quality literacy instruction that aligns with state standards and school curriculum. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Literacy Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with administrators, interventionists, special education staff, and EL specialists to ensure coordinated literacy support. </li><li>Lead school-wide literacy initiatives, such as book clubs, family literacy nights, and reading challenges. </li><li>Stay up to date with current literacy research and MTSS best practices to enhance instructional programming. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Literacy, Reading Education, or a related field preferred. </li><li>Reading Specialist Certification preferred. </li><li>Experience in elementary literacy instruction, MTSS implementation, assessment, and intervention. </li><li>Strong knowledge of literacy development, phonics, comprehension strategies, and writing instruction. </li><li>Effective coaching and collaboration skills to support teachers and students. </li><li>Strong organizational and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>School Lane Charter School is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class.</p> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
