<p>Overview</p> <p>The Accounting Manager will be a key leader of the Petrochoice General Accounting Team, overseeing multiple accounting functions, including but not limited to general accounting and Tax. He / She will provide critical support to the growing organization by ensuring accurate financial data to help drive best business decisions and continually development of new processes to create efficiencies.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Manage, organize and plan the activities of growing Tax, and General Accounting Teams </li><li>Oversee month end close process including but not limited to; posting journal entries, financial statement analysis, margin analysis, and accruals. </li><li>Monthly P&L Development, Analysis and Quarterly Presentation </li><li>Complete Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and Analysis </li><li>Direct and indirect tax oversight - Manages monthly tax returns and day to day tax activity completed by tax team while being a partner to outside tax firms. </li><li>Review monthly fixed asset reconciliation, process and budget. </li><li>Implement and maintain accounting standards and SOX internal control processes while looking for continuous improvement. </li><li>Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial transactions within the ERP system [Prophet 21] </li><li>Develops and/or improves systems, processes, and policies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all Accounting Functions </li><li>Perform a major role in the completion of the year-end financial audit with 'Big 4' Firm </li><li>Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and inventory accounting </li><li>Complex problem solving - identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Access knowledge a plus. </li><li>Financial Analysis of P&L and Balance Sheet </li><li>SQL and/or data querying experience </li><li>Ethics - treats people with respect; inspires the trust of others; works with integrity and ethically. </li><li>Understanding our Corporate values and building them into your daily work and leadership style </li><li>Promote and Respect Diversity and Inclusion </li><li>Ability to maintain a responsive attitude and mindset </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university. 5+ years of related accounting experience with a demonstrated history of increasing responsibilities. Public Accounting and/or SOX experience a plus but not required.</p> <p>Certificates and Licenses:</p> <p>CPA or CMA preferred, but not required</p> <p>Language Ability:</p> <p>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.</p> <p>Math Ability:</p> <p>Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.</p> <p>Reasoning Ability:</p> <p>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</p> <p>Computer Skills:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, and internet software.
