<p>Ingredion is hiring a Culinologist in the Global Culinology Team to provide Culinology product development support and work closely with the Culinology Project Leader in support of our Go-to-Market functional teams to identify growth opportunities within targeted sectors of the food industry and pursue those via rapid product innovation, formulation support, processing assistance and technical problem solving. In addition, you will be responsible for assisting in developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships, specifically with lead Research Chefs, Culinary Scientists and Product Developers in the region.</p> <p>As a Culinologist, your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely and collaboratively with Ingredion Go-to-Market teams, customers and cross-functional teams to anticipate customer needs and build value for customers by actively using knowledge of overall business and markets to execute goals. </li><li>Support and deliver on multiple focused projects, working both independently and collaboratively with others as required, to meet project timelines and deliverables. </li><li>Conduct formulation and evaluation in Culinology Center and pilot plant to advance projects that promote functional, value-added ingredients and ingredient solutions. This will be done via phone, face-to-face meetings, presentations, and at trade shows. </li><li>Assist and coordination of Culinology led production scale trials at customers. </li><li>Organize, summarize and report data generated from these experiments in a timely manner. </li><li>Identify and demonstrate value propositions for different clean label, specialty sweetener, nutritional additives and emerging food ingredients that are on trend and offer the potential for new or expanded business with customers. </li><li>Analyze and understand data, results, and application of findings to advance projects as assigned. </li><li>Maintain a clean, safe work environment. Follow guidelines set-out for Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Compliance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ServSafe and Safety guidelines & initiatives. </li></ul> <p>The Culinologst position is well-suited for you if you:</p> <ul> <li>Like to work on the bench and/or in the pilot plant developing creative and culinary inspired formulations and testing ingredient performance. </li><li>Are a creative problem solver who embraces change and adapts to fast changing customer/consumer demands </li><li>Act with a sense of urgency; are results oriented and like to continuously improve. </li><li>Have a real passion for Culinology - culinary arts and food technology,and the food industry. </li></ul> <p>Qualified Candidates will have:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. in Culinology/Culinary Science/Culinary Nutrition and/or other relevant discipline. Experience in the food industry is a plus - primarily in food product development and gold standard formula development. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills (technical reports for internal and external distribution, presentations, etc.). </li><li>Experience in interactions with ingredient manufacturers or consumer goods manufacturing companies a plus - via prior short term roles, internships, consulting. </li><li>Excellent knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions </li><li>Demonstrated experience of creative, hands-on food concept development using culinary kitchen, laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment. </li><li>Demonstrated involvement in teams & personal development of skills. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate and interact within a cross-functional team. </li><li>Up to 20%- 30% travel will be required. </li></ul> <p>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).</p> <p>Incentive Compensation:</p> <p>As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Full-time roles are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision coverage as well as a 401(k) plan with an competitive company match.</p>
