<p>HACCP Coordinator</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The HACCP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) program and pest control programs as well as supporting Safe Quality Food (SQF) programs. Reporting directly to the food safety manager, this role ensures compliance with regulatory and customer requirements while promoting a culture of food safety and continuous improvement within the facility.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead compliance for the site's HACCP plan including daily document review, Pre-Shipment tasks, and maintaining HACCP data </li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain the HACCP program, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards. </li><li>Lead efforts to reduce and prevent foreign material </li><li>Complete program reassessments at required frequencies and when necessitated by equipment or situational changes </li><li>Investigate food safety incidents and program deviations, provide recommendations for product disposition, and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary. </li><li>Lead and oversee validation tasks supporting HACCP and the facilities food safety system </li><li>Communicate directly with onsite FSIS staff, and prepare and send written communication to FSIS including answer NRs and Foreign Material notifications </li><li>Develop and implement electronic forms in the software system, as needed for food safety and HACCP tasks </li><li>Oversee calibration schedules and schedule maintenance for HACCP related equipment including thermometers and data recorders. </li><li>Enforce, monitor, and document compliance to GMPs and SSOPs </li><li>Train employees on HACCP principles and procedures to enhance awareness and compliance. </li><li>Manage scheduling with 3rd party pest control provider and assess service reports </li><li>Prepare and present weekly reports on FSQA performance and trends </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in food science, animal science, microbiology, or a related technical field. Commensurate experience in roles managing HACCP programs beyond the minimum required may be considered in lieu of a degree. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role managing HACCP programs. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year experience in a USDA protein processing facility. </li><li>HACCP Certification required </li><li>Experience working in a SQF or BRC certified facilities </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and leaders while maintaining confidence and mutual respect. </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision </li><li>Resourceful and self-motivated </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and experience with food safety management software preferred. </li><li>Familiarity with PCQI for Animal Foods beneficial, but not required </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.</p> <p>Physical Demand:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p> <p>The position will at times lift heavy objects, walk, stand and sits for long periods of time and may perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
