<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Rockefeller Foundation (RF) is uniquely positioned to accelerate an inclusive energy transition as an on-ramp for human opportunity. While the world is expanding access to energy, progress remains unevenly distributed, with over 1 billion people without access to sufficient, reliable power that unlocks sustained economic opportunity.</p> <p>To advance this goal at an unprecedented scale, the Foundation led the establishment of The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), a groundbreaking alliance launched together with preeminent philanthropic, government, donor, MDB, DFI, and private sector partners. GEAPP serves as a platform to achieve universal access, end energy poverty, and enable more inclusive energy transitions through scaling transformative solutions across Asia, Latin America, and Africa.</p> <p>While driving GEAPP's success is a core focus, we are also building aligned solutions to strengthen the energy access ecosystem. This includes institutional capacity building to unlock investments in clean, abundant and affordable energy; accelerating the replacement of coal assets with clean power while ensuring jobs and economic development are enhanced; and leveraging frontier technologies such as grid digitization and AI. In addition, the Power team helps to drive major regional partnerships to unlock energy access, such as Mission 300, the World Bank and the African Development Bank's ambition to electrify 300 million Africans by 2030.</p> <p>The Senior Associate, Power will bring expertise and/or experience working on renewable energy/ energy planning/ energy access/ energy transitions with developing country exposure. They will support key strategic priorities across the portfolio to translate strategy into impact. This will include conducting research and analysis, supporting grant development, and project and partnership coordination.</p> <p>Examples of Projects in 2025 could include:</p> <ul> <li>Supporting Power's mini-grid scale up project in Zambia </li><li>Contributing to Power's oversight of its grant to GEAPP </li><li>Tracking One RF developments in support of Mission 300 </li><li>Implementation support to Power's Frontier Technology portfolio </li></ul> <p>Pay Range: $98,000- $110,000. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation's pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.</p> <p>Work Schedule: This role is on a hybrid work schedule and required to be in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.</p> <p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Directly support major projects and special initiatives </li><li>In partnership with the team's Managing Directors, provide research and execution support to grants, projects, and priority emerging solutions </li><li>Conduct landscape research and develop concepts and proposals to test and develop Power team strategy </li><li>Provide support to grantees and contractors through day-to-day management and oversight and ensuring outputs contribute to impactful outcomes </li><li>Contribute to the support and management of GEAPP </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Generally expected to have at least 5 years of relevant sector experience, with exposure to global contexts in at least one of the following regions: Asia, Africa, or Latin America and the Caribbean. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in the energy sector (e.g., energy access, energy policy, clean energy, etc.) drawing from a technology, research, policy, or investments background. </li><li>Track record in managing complex projects, with a highly responsive style and a drive to achieve results. </li><li>Excellent analytical, communications, and writing skills. </li><li>Capable of working independently and taking initiative and equally comfortable working in a matrixed team. </li><li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to working to improve the lives of others. </li><li>Experience with Salesforce a plus and proficiency with Microsoft office required. </li><li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Data Oriented: Consistently achieves results, by approaching work informed by data. </li><li>Decision Quality: Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward. </li><li>Communicates Effectively: Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. </li><li>Strategic Learning: Actively learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder. </li><li>Values Differences: Recognizes the value of different perspectives and commits to being self aware, respectful, and seeks to learn from new and different voices </li></ul> <p>About The Rockefeller Foundation</p> <p>The Rockefeller Foundation is a pioneering philanthropy built on collaborative partnerships at the frontiers of science, technology, and innovation that enable individuals, families, and communities to flourish.
