The</p> <p>PAR may initiate the processes and assesses surgical and diagnostic patient information to be systematically available hospital wide.</p> <p>The PAR meets established quality and productivity standards and interacts professionally with MD's, MD office staff, employees,</p> <p>outside vendors, patients, and patient representatives.</p> <p>EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:</p> <p>This position requires two years of medical office or customer service experience. Participates in orientation, patient access training</p> <p>program and continuing education. Related experience in hospital registration, Eclipsys or PHS/HPF and knowledge of medical terminology</p> <p>preferred.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS: Clinical Setting. Provides information related to, but not limited to:</p> <p>billing, compliance, patient rights and HIPAA.</p> <p>Verifies patient insurance coverage and obtains authorizations related to the</p> <p>patient's stay. Refers non-insured patients to financial counselor.</p> <p>Requests and collects co-pays; deposits; issues receipts at time of payment.</p> <p>Communicates with medical/clinical personnel regarding patient access, interfacility</p> <p>transfers, discharge processing, reimbursement issues, authorization</p> <p>requirements, surgical and diagnostic orders.</p> <p>Accurately indexes patient information to HPR; interacts with IS, HIM, ASR's, to</p> <p>assure optimal information flow; resolve inaccuracies and discrepancies.</p> <p>Intakes MD request for patient admission; co-ordinates assignment of patients to</p> <p>beds; maintains accurate bed-board status; compiles daily census.</p> <p>Performs other clerical tasks to support supervisor (i.e. QA related audits).</p> <p>Participates in the development of work schedule to accommodate patient flow and</p> <p>meet departmental needs.</p> <p>Professional and Staff Development</p> <p>Supports/participates with the orientation process for new team members.</p> <p>Participates in huddles, line ups, and employee meetings.</p> <p>Participates in voluntary and required in-services, educational activities and</p> <p>performance improvement activities.</p> <p>Demonstrates appropriate conflict resolution skills with patients and colleagues.</p> <p>Displays commitment of the Hospital Mission</p> <p>Facilitates patient flow by directing patients to correct locations. Maintains good</p> <p>relations with all customers and respects patient' rights to privacy.</p> <p>Demonstrates excellent communication skills, team concepts and delivers</p> <p>exceptional customer service to our patients, visitors and colleagues.</p> <p>Adheres to hospital confidentiality statement.</p> <p>Pay Range: $17.85-$25.90</p> <p>Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
