Posting Number 20166404S Job Description</p> <p>The Russ College of Engineering and Technology Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technology (ICMT) at Ohio University invites applications for the full-time, benefits eligible position of Postdoctoral Research Associate. This is a one-year, grant funded appointment which may be renewed for an additional year dependent upon performance and continued funding.</p> <p>Job responsibilities include:</p> <p>Multiple positions may be available through this pool posting with a rolling application deadline.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Assists in coordinating sponsored projects by providing technical and research expertise in the area of CO2/H2S corrosion as related to oil and gas production and transportation as well as CO2 capture, sequestration and storage;</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with budget management and fund raising;</p> </li><li> <p>Takes part in research work as an active researcher on assigned projects;</p> </li><li> <p>Mentors graduate students at the ICMT to help them with experimental and modeling skills as well as analytical, electrochemical aspects of their work;</p> </li><li> <p>Organizes and supervises graduate student training in using the various analytical equipment and instrumentation;</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with setting up and maintaining analytical laboratory equipment which will include, but is not be limited to, SEM, optical microscopy, spectrophotometry, chemical analyses, and electrochemical testing.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Must have an earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field by the start date of employment.</p> <p>At least one year of related experience</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Department Multiphase Institute Pay Rate</p> <p>Pay is commensurate with experience and credentials.</p> <p>Job Open Date 09/20/2024 Posting Close Date</p> <p>09/19/2025</p> <p>Job Category Post Doctoral Research at-will appointment Months 12 month Planning Unit Russ College of Engineering & Technology Work Schedule</p> <p>M-F, 8-5.
