As valued team members, students are also encouraged to share and implement their own ideas, enhancing both their personal growth and the collective success of the team.</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:</p> <ul> <li>The Production Control Department is responsible for steering Plant Spartanburg's production volume on a long term, short term & daily level, while maintaining an optimized production system. The department is integrated into all aspects of BMW's manufacturing strategies. </li><li>The Production Control department is divided into these main areas: </li><li>Supports the strategic volume planning & reports to Senior Management. Implementation of plant business strategy into a manufacturing plan. </li><li>Order Planning: sequences customer orders by adhering to assembly & supplier restrictions. Drives the master production sequence for the plant. </li><li>Program Planning: Develops production strategy (volume plan, shift model, production calendar) short term to long term. </li><li>Vehicle Control: manages the vehicle sequence throughout the plant to ensure on-time delivery of orders to our customers. </li><li>Identify, lead & support continuous improvement projects within the department. </li><li>Lead and coordinate cross-departmental improvement projects, collaborating with diverse technologies such as Assembly, Body-Shop, Paint-Shop, HR, Finance, and IT. </li><li>Develop and refine data analysis tools to optimize process management and streamline daily reporting methods. </li><li>Engage with interdisciplinary teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of business operations, production systems, and supply chain intricacies of a large automotive manufacturing facility. </li><li>Generate and present insightful Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to inform and guide Plant management decisions. </li><li>Projects: </li><li>Continuous improvement of the plant volume & reporting systems which are used to steer the plant at multiple level of the organization (Senior management, department management, operations, etc.) - Key Topics: Data analytics, presentation/communication skills, management reporting. </li><li>Promote the advancement of future production steering concepts for upcoming structural changes including integration of electrified vehicles - Key Topics: Planning, analysis & project management. </li><li>Support the development of the Plant Production Control room consolidation concept.
