This role involves preparing journal entries, month-end financials, grant reporting, variance analysis, and cash management. The Accountant will also assist with audits, annual budget preparation, and maintaining financial systems.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Prepares and reviews journal entries, month-end supporting detail, and financial statements. </li><li>Performs monthly variance analysis on balance sheet accounts including benefits reconciliation. </li><li>Analyzes financial processes and opportunities to improve system financial performance. </li><li>Maintain fixed asset subledger and prepared associated journal entries. </li><li>Understands finance systems and ability to write reports. </li><li>Assists with grant coding, reconciliation, and reporting. </li><li>Assists with month close process. </li><li>Assists with cash management support and monitoring. </li><li>Assists with annual cost reports, audits and external reporting. </li><li>Assists with preparing annual budget and ongoing monitoring and reporting. </li><li>Back up for Accounts Payable processing and coding. </li><li>Back up for cash handling and deposits. </li><li>Back up for payroll processing. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>3-5 years related experience, preferably in the non-profit sector</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance</p> </li><li> <p>Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and use hands for various tasks.
